Vodafone ... is it worth?

I ordered a Vodafone SIM online on 13 Sep 2009. The order # is 49096. I received the sim card by ARAMEX on 15 Sep by Airway bill # 6605108683. I inserted the SIM card in my mobile.
It did not work. It gave message 'SIM ERROR. CONTACT SERVICE PROVIDER'.
I called Vodaphone support number 8007111 on 15 Sep. and informed them about the problem. I was assured that it would be solved within 48 hours and technical services will call me on my other mobile number. I also sent a mail to them but I did not get any reply. Today I called again on 8007111 and I am surprised to hear that there is no complain recorded on my vodafone number so they have again assured that within 48 hours the problem will be solved.

This is my FIRST IMPRESSION about Vodafone and their services in Doha......!

What about you?

i wonder if after the people sort out their problems with vf they'll post something on qatarliving...or this is another place for complaints and bad advertising for both telco companies:)

In short no it is not worth it. For one week my phone has not worked-if I didn't have a QTEL phone, I would have been stuck.

I am also one of the 1st 1000 Vodaphone customers and agree that reception has improved. However since moving over to the flexi plan I have not been very impressed. As soon as I replaced my existing SIM card with the new one and had it switched to my old number my phone has not worked. I have rang the customer care several times each time being told that I will be contacted in 48 hours, three times I was not. It was only when I demanded to speak to a manager that I was called back.A new SIM card has been sent. Let's see if it works! I am not impressed with Vodaphone and will stay with QTEl. I have had no problems with them. Vodaphone need to sort themselves out otherwise they will sink.

I've Had Vodafone since Day one as one of the 1st 1000 Customers and they have gradually become better and now they can compete with Qtel except for the Coverage. Theiir Customer service is way better than Qtel.
