blue wars
the next wars will be over water :
As demand for water hits the limits of finite supply, potential conflicts are brewing between nations that share transboundary freshwater reserves. More than 50 countries on five continents might soon be caught up in water disputes unless they move quickly to establish agreements on how to share reservoirs, rivers, and underground water acquifers
Water conflicts are invariably shaped by local factors. But the sheer scale of these conflicts makes it impossible to dismiss them as isolated events. What we are dealing with is a global crisis generated by decades of gross mismanagement of water resources.
The facts behind the crisis tell their own story. By 2025, more than two billion people are expected to live in countries that find it difficult or impossible to mobilize the water resources needed to meet the needs of agriculture, industry and households. Population growth, urbanization and the rapid development of manufacturing industries are relentlessly increasing demand for finite water resources.
So How can the world move toward a future of cooperation rather than conflict on water???
...as a start, so it won't be difficult for us to 'clean the clog' on the flow of water passing through purification/desalination plants.
Oh. Did you know why residential septic tanks were built that way? To 'purify' waste water by means of gravity pulling it down and strained through layers of different types of rocks and sands underneath and sometimes flows back into the sea/river through some natural (not man-made) 'sewers'.
Unless the people who design or construct the septic tanks in residences didn't know that or never cared to construct it properly that way, well...they're going to ask for sewage 'services' to seep it and the 'services' will throw it away on some open land in Doha...

Next wars will be over water..
However, reality is that we need to "recycle" and also relocate societies to where the water is....
Ofcourse i do but i don have to recycle it n make it tea n cookie:P
you dont s'''' and urine !! you come from wich planet ?
Pee n Shit:Ewwwww
what disgust you dear !!??
Ewww MD that was so disgusting!
putting 1000 $ to make a machine gun is better "for them " than putting 100 $ to invent something for the humanity
they are only picking a new reason for war
instead of energy sources "oil"
Cooperation? This will never happen!
ok at least they should look beyond national borders to basin-wide cooperation. Building strong river-basin institutions could provide a framework for identifying and exploiting opportunities for cooperation
it is a solution for only the gulf sea cities
Governments make money from scarcity, samia.
I think governments have to stop treating water as an infinitely available resource to be exploited without reference to ecological sustainability. Yes, water is scarce in many countries. But the scarcity is the product of poor economic policies. Improving the efficiency of water use and encouraging conservation through pricing and more efficient technologies in agriculture and industry would help reduce scarcity. Some countries also have the option of conserving local resources by importing the "virtual water" embedded in imported agricultural produce.
You are right, one_shot. AC water is clean. But you got to have the AC running which requires electrical energy. Many countries are too poor to run ACs 24 hours and seven days a week.
all the time , there is an idea hitting my head
all the time , and if i couldn't achieve maybe someone will
Qatar is a very humid country , why we don't take the advantage of that and the advantage of the huge number of air conditioners to make our own water
we will have a river ?
so don't cry us a riveeeerrr :D
Qatar's drinking water (tap) comes from the sea. I'm sure, even you have peed in the sea sometimes when nobody was looking. So what are you drinking?
but i remind you that you have to drink water to make urine and the recycling units are very very expensive

MD to avoid lot of powder in space? lol
why arab? good job
keep classifying people
how can be a trouble of water and we have 75% of water on earth
they will invent sea water to drinking water
problem solved
Samia, "industrialized" nations will not have a water problem. They have the technology and the money to recycle. It will hit the poor countries, but do they have money for weapons?
Oh, I forgot, and that's another reason why Arabs can't be astronauts, you know.
lol...like Juan Marquez is doing...drinking his own pee..he's a water saver advocate..
Cogito...ergo, sum.....
S**t will be dehydrated, becomes a disposable powder and is kicked out in space, whereas the water extracted will be next day's tea.
MD what about a sh*t it becomes cookies :D
If NASA can do it, why not the rest of the world?
mmmmm are u serious ! could you recycle your pee and drink it ?
They should do what they do on the Space Station: recycle yesterday's pee to be today's tea. No need for war.
