if the 8820 doesnt appeal to u, i guess the next best bet would b the Bold!!! Though its a little bigger than the Javelin, display is better, the keypad layout is great for quick typing, fully loaded features, etc.
I'm a BB user too. I have the Curve 8900. It is great. The Tour is coming out soon, but not as wow as the curve. Look it up on the website and compare them. As for the battery, I traveled without my charger and it lasted my whole trip. 2 days and 1 night, and I use it a lot. So, good luck!

but am a little confused now as to choose between the bold and the curve....i hate the latest Nokia's currently in the market...so left with just two options --- The curve or the bold...!!!
Did u kno that RIM (Research In Motion), the SMALL company that owns and provides the BB service, is stated to be the fastest growing company in the world at the moment!!!
The simple old 8300/8310/8320 Series Curve or the new 8900 Series??? The 8900 is crap!!!
Being a BB user (addict), lemme warn u that both 8900 (Curve/Javelin) and 9000 (Bold) r crap!!! Both these models r new, they look nice, have more updated apps, yada, yada, yada but lemme warn u that u'll end up having to carry the charger EVERYWHERE u go!!! The talk-times on both these models r PATHETIC!!! I gifted 3 BOLDs to my relatives and none of them r using it anymore!!! It was more of a curse than a gift!!! They had to have a charger at home, in the office and in the car!!! The same is the story with the 8900, my staff must b cursing me under their breaths for it!!!
I've been using the 8820 for around 18 months now & lemme tell u, i have NEVER had a complaint about it since i got it!!! The battery life is amazing; extensive call and email usage, Wi-Fi scanning permanently turned ON, etc, gives me about 3-4 days between recharging. U dont even get that on a Nokia these days!!! Its fabulous!!! Keypad is well spread out unlike the Curve, decent video playback, great sound quality, etc. Only prob is that it doesn't have a camera, but i dont want a camera!!! Its actually even lighter than the Bold.
I don't mind an upgrade, but there is nothing from BB that i would want to shift to at the moment!!! There is a newer version of mine called the BB Tour coming soon, but i think dat doesnt have Wi-Fi. Mayb i'll just buy the same thing again or... i dunno!!!
Keep us updated!!!
p.s.
The above mentioned details r purely based on personal experience and opinion, so any BB Bold or Javelin users reading this needn't take it personally and start attacking me on these points!!! hehe
kit kat do u have the wireless service activated form q tel... and if yes how is the experience and how much would be the monthly bill say if i m a moderate caller
bold....its got 3g capabilities and its the top of the line, the curve is also gr8, it has a better cam, with a smaller package, however no 3g capabilities...
what ever you do stay away from storm....the touch screen is no where near iphone friendly, and its not a blackberry if it does not have a easy to use keyboard.....
as for new models, nothing coming soon.....RIM are a small company, and it takes them a year to two years to release a new model sometimes....

Have you looked at the HTC Dream G1. It does more than the BlackBerry, can be unlocked to work with any SIM, costs less and looks a lot nicer.

Go for the Curve.... friend of mine had the bold and had a lot of problems with it....
Had both a curve now the bold, liked em both. Agree with abuimad, would definitely stay away from the touch screen version.
