Brief Introduction to the University

Capital Medical University (CMU) was founded in 1960. It ranks among the top academic medical institutions in China and is one of the key municipal universities in Beijing. Professor Wu Jieping, a world-renowned urologist and a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was the founding President. The current President is Professor Lu Zhaofeng.

CMU consists of 10 Schools, 14 affiliated hospitals and 1 teaching institution.
The university and affiliated hospitals have a staff of about 20,000. Among them, there are 6 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, nearly 1,000 professors and over 2,000 associate professors. The university has a total of over 9,000 enrolled students. CMU provides a wide range of educational programs for Doctorates, Masters, Bachelors and certificates.

CMU is a well known academic institution for its strong capacity in scientific research. It hosts many key national and municipal disciplines, laboratories and some exchange stations for post-doctoral research. High-caliber national and municipal research and training centers and institutes are founded here, covering a wide range of fields including General Practitioner Training, Clinical Medicine, Basic Medicine, Neurosciences, Ophthalmology, Genetics, Urology, Cardiology, Pain Medicine, Toxicology, Biomedical Engineering, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reproduction, Health Policy and so on. Qualifications for admission

Those who are in good health and abide by the laws and regulations of People's Republic of China and the regulations of CMU are welcome to attend our university.

Requirements for applicants:
1. Aged 18 to 40;
2. Senior high school graduates or those with the same or above level;
3. A certain level of English language: TOFEL above 550, IELTS above 5.5.(English Medium)
4. Those who are qualified with the requirements of CMU for mathematics, physics, and chemistry can attend the Program.
5. Applicants should pass the Medical tests of HIV/HBV/HCV/ECG/X-Ray and complete blood test before the registration at CMU.

Admission procedure

1. Applicants should submit the following documents at Student Affairs Office of CMU:
 Completed Application Form of Capital Medical University (can be downloaded);
 Letter of guarantee by a Chinese sponsor(Chinese Citizen) with evidence of the sponsor's identity;
 Copies of the latest schooling certificate and schooling records;
 TOFEL or IELTS Certificate (English Medium)
 Copies of Passport or Identification;
 Physical Examination Record and blood test reports
2. All the qualified applicants shall be matriculated by the end of July every year by CMU. The JW202 Form and Offer from Capital Medical University will be posted by the Students Affairs Office.
3. All the matriculates shall register in the Students Office on the date specified in the Offer. Those who are two weeks overdue are considered abandoning the qualification on their own accord.

Notes：
 All the students should live in the accommodation provided (free) by the University for Management Purpose.
 If students decide to transfer or withdraw, the paid fees will not be returned or transferred.
 All the fees above are paid in RMB (unless specified otherwise).
 From 2nd year and onwards the students will pay the Resident Permit Fee, Text Books and Insurance by themselves.
 The students who joined in Pre medical Course will pay Resident Permit Fee, Text Books and Insurance by themselves from 1st year of Clinical Medicine Programe.

Life on International School of Capital Medical University (Wan Shou Lu Campus)

1. English-Medium-Students will study and stay in the International School of Capital Medical University.
2. On campus there can be found a Muslim Mess, a Chinese Mess, sports facilities for basketball, volleyball and table tennis, a Gym.

How to get to the International School Campus of Capital Medical University
1. From the Airport : Take the Airport Shuttle Bus to Gong-zhu-fen Station(公主坟) about 20 Yuan, then take a taxi to International School of CMU about 10 Yuan.
2. From the Beijing International Railway Station: Take subway Line 2 to Fu-xing-men( 复兴门 ) Station and then transfer to Line 1 to Wan-shou-lu(万寿路) Station about 2 Yuan and takes 30 minutes, Exit A , then take a taxi to International School of CMU about 10 Yuan and takes 5 minutes.
3. From the Beijing Western: take a taxi to International School of Capital Medical University about 20 Yuan and takes 15 minutes.
