You cannot change your domestic visa. If your current employer have any business and he employ you there then it's different case & you are lucky. But changing employer/sponsor you should need No Objection Certificate from your current employer/sponsor. Even he give you NOC, you have to employ as domestic worker only with other sponsor. But if you think that you can find another job in company and will cancel your domestic visa after that you will come back with new visa, it's also not possible unless you get NOC from your current sponsor. If you cancel your domestic visa & go back to your home country without NOC, then you cannot come back here again within next 2 years.

pls call me versi...

If the sponsor is an individual then it is definitely a domestic visa

frankly it doesn't matter whether a domestic visa if it is maid or driver... once you get here... your employer can employ you as either

but sorry to tell you though that your plan to just land this as a first job and then move on to a better job may not work

like I said earlier, a domestic visa cannot be changed to a work visa... at least for now

your only option would be if the current sponsor is willing to employ you in his company in some other kind of ocuppation...

However...

if you come here on a domestic visa...

and you happen to find a job elsewhere... then if that new employer is willing to give you a new visa

then you can quit your earlier job, request your sponsor to cancel your domestic visa... and then go back and return on the new work visa under your new employers sponsorship... PROVIDED... your old sponsor does not object to you doing so...

I have tried to make it as simple as possible... let me know if you didn't understand

it is individual visa sponsorship sir not a company... i'll try to apply in a company as driver but many people there in qatar said that its hard to find a job for a first timer like me so better to go for a family lady driver first for me to obtain a license and to know the ways there....then after my contract they said its easy for me to apply for a much beter job....

about my visa my sponsor paid for it only my medical and my placement fee for the agency amounting 1 month salary i am the one to pay ....

as long as they are paying you the amount that they promised you... not much help from complaining...

Like I said, a maid or driver visa are both domestic visas...

Whereas lets say a secretary or receptionist visa would be a work visa...

Can you pls clarify if your sponsor/employer is a company or an individual?

Are they asking you to pay for the visa? because if they are, then that's not a very good sign...

thanks for all your comments.... yup my employer also is the one stated in the visa.. i am not yet signing my contract because we are waiting for the release of my visa from the embassy for stamp... maybe the only chance is when i see my contract stated my exact job....

is there any possibilities that i can complain with my employer if she breaks the contract with my job i mean wat is stated in contract is not follow ???

Its important to check if sponsor is same as employer...

If not, then its a catch...

cos domestic visas cannot be changed to work visa...

But if you are being sold an illegal visa, veri, the chances of your being mistreated are much higher.

doesn't really matter what profession your visa has on it... what matters more is the kind of visa...

Some maid visas or driver visas are domestic visas...

different from a work visa... its called 'shakhsee'...

But it depends who this visa has been issued by...

is it a company or an individual?

there has been a recent law that allows people with domestic visas to work in companies which are sponsored by the same individual (that is what I heard)

So I can't really see any problem with you coming with a maid visa as long as your employer is your sponsor and he/they gives you the job that he promises you once you get here... pls check your PM...
