How can I get my Gratuity??
I have been working in my company since around three years. It is W.L.L. and international company. In the agreement, there is written, gratuity will be paid as per Qatar labour law. But the company is not giving any gratuity for the employee who left the company after finishing their agreement. And the interesting thing is that nobody is going to labour office for claiming their gratuity. But I don't want to lose my gratuity I want to take it from company. If I go to labour office, should I pay any cost for case or any service charge? How much money (gratuity) can I get from my company each year as per Qatari labour law? Is it not obligatory for one company to pay gratuity to its employee?

we have the same problem.just resigned recently and my boss gave my salary only...i asked him about my gratuity he said i can get it when i come back cause i told him that i'm going to my hometown...am planning to call him before i go because i'm not sure if i'll come back here...planning to call him this saturday so wish me luck hehehe.gudluck to you too
Gratuity is being paid by the company during your last working day. It will be included in your final settlement either if you resign or got terminated by the company. If the company will not pay your gratuity, you have all the right to complain at the labour department. Make sure that you had completed at least 1 year with the company. Gratuity is 21 days/year calculated base on the basic salary
I thought you could only get the gratuity after you finish your service with the company - ie they don't pay you the gratuity at the end of each year, but only at the end of your assignment.
Am I mistaken?
If it is only the matter of gratuity, I am sure the Labour dept will get it done for you, unless you have any serious matters pending with your company.

The final settlement, ask them to put it down in black and white...
I know its easier said than done
But from my experience, the people there are more eager to be done with you than to give you justice... they get tons of false claims... so if your case is not water tight... they'll just steam roll you and your chance is gone...

BTW... after you lodge a complain, they will call you and a representative of the employer for a discussion to sort things out between you two
You better be arabic speaking or have an arabic speaking person with you or else you may get drowned out
Try to take any salary statements, contract or bank statements to back up your claims...
If things don't progress, they will advise you to take the case to court...

You get 3 weeks for 1 year, 3 weeks and 1 month for 2 years. Indemnity has to be calculated YTD (year to date), hence until your last working day.
Next to that your entitled for your regular holidays, 2.2 days per month (or so).
Just go to labor and inform them about your case. There will be no charges, to the best of my knowledge.
Make sure you are clean yourself and have no gross-misconduct charges against you. DO NOT SIGN YOUR CLEARANCE until this is settled.

Every employee of the company is entitles for 21 days of basic salary as gratuity for each completed year. It is compulsory now, whether it is mentioned in the contract or not. You can directly go to the Labour office and file a complain and they will act immediately. There won't be any charges for this.
you should get 3 weeks salary per year worked, this is per the labour law
Ask for it.
Send the request in through Fax if you cant get a "received" stamped by the secy.
If you dont get move the labour court.
