I bought my laptop 5 months ago, after using during that time period I start to hear some noises kinda engine-like sound. Does this mean my laptop's hard drive is full? What should I do next?pls. help..thanks
check carefully where the sound is coming from... remember that not only the laptop has installed cooling fans, there is also one installed inside the battery charger.
if the sound is coming from the laptop unit, then, this most probably cause by one of the cooling fan installed atop of the CPU and the other one is near to the HDD...
Since your laptop is just 5 months old, I suggest to bring it back to the shop/store where you bought it. because this is still under warranty (if you bought your unit brandnew..otherwise, this is not cover anymore...) and i strongly suggest if your unit is still under warranty dont ever attempt to open the unit and fix it by yourself.. the warranty will become void...
-------------
if your laptop is heating in just few minutes after you open it and it hangings afterwards, I am sure that the cooling fan atop of the CPU has a problem and you must return it back to the shop and make a proper report addressing the problem you are experiencing to your laptop.
I just checked my laptop, it say the Vista "C" is 28.5 GB free of 74.2GB. The sounds is not all the time, but mostly I hear the sound when I am trying to open some web pages. I am confused. How could this laptop be easily filled up with data where in I don't often used it. Do I need some kinda separate hard drive to store some info. This I guess start to come out when I recently donwloaded couple of clips from the web. Pls. help.

I say no matter what sound it ....if its working then dont worry about it ......looooooool
computers are in danger only when they are on fire
it can be the hard disk...
is the noise all the time?
Sounds like it could be the cooling fan.
Hi,
it can be sound for the exhaust fan.
if you see that your hard drive is not completely occupied..i think this will be the issue (FAN).
thanks.
