2009: A Doha Tribeca Odyssey
The Doha Tribeca Film Festival will feature about 30 films by world-acclaimed filmmakers and freshly discovered talent. It will be housed at the magnificent Museum of Islamic Art and other select screening venues across the capital. Qatar's capital will be transformed by a spirit of creativity, youth, community and international glamour.
The Doha Tribeca Film Festival will take place between October 29 - November 1 2009.
Super duper! I heard about this last weekend. Cool! :0)
We've set up a group on QL to share what we're doing with all of you - http://www.qatarliving.com/group/doha-tribeca-film-festival
I've posted a couple of our latest videos and we'd love to hear what you think of them. We'd also like to hear what you think about the Festival itself, the questions you might have and whether you'd like to get involved. So join the group and come talk to us about what we're doing :)
who should we contact if we want to work in culture industry in Doha ? Like the Tribecca Film Festival or Contemparabia ?

Greeker: Glad you enjoyed the video!
mussywil: The website will go live on August 18th at http://www.dohatff.com
For now the site has a landing page with some brief information about the Festival. We're also on Twitter (http://twitter.com/dohatff) and Facebook (http://is.gd/1YC5b) where we'll be adding more details about the festival as they're confirmed as well as giving everyone an insight into what we're doing as we prepare for the festival
Hope to see you all at the Festival in October.

open to public is a good initiative.
and it will be a good chance to visit the museum as well!
i think promoz will begin just after ramadan...
tickets!!?? its Qatar!! with a big heart;entrance could be Free..
but where's the website giving information as to the film schedules, where to get tickets, etc?
If they don't promote it properly it will be a failure with too many empty seats, and other festivals will be put off trying this kind of thing in Doha.
Judging by previous events here though they won't advertise it properly and unfortunately it probably won't be a success.
Maybe Qatari should organise a competition to come up with unique ideas to advertise Trfibeca Film Festival. It could be short video, photography, essay, whatever... Something like the Uniquely Qatar competition.
This is also a very unique event. Just a thought. Before i forget, I loved the video. Thank you, Jane01.
