hello, Qatar. I am looking an acomodation but I will never accept these offers from Qatar Living. People!!!! We are in financial crisis and you still hope to rent those cheap accomodations at the same price like a villa in Switzerland. Guys....wake up!!!!!
Yes its very sad thing. That rents are too high and thats why i have observed big no of peoples gone back to the county of thier origin coz they can not bear to much expencive life here in Qatar. Im very surprized that there are no of flats , villas here in qatar for rent even from last 2/3 months but no taker in market but still owners are not decreasing rents.
I read lot of rumers that rents are decreasing but rumers are like sweet dreams. I think now qatari government have to take a strong step to stop the maket makers and to control high ental costs otherwise if this situation remains than in next few years no one will like to invest here in a county where cost of living is that high for outsiders.
mates,, I did notice few flats for a lower price than what they used to be in the begining of last year...there is a change but not very significant while it is supposed to fall a lot during the recessions, however the Real Estates are holding the prices up.
"Due to small offer vs high demand, just a market rule!"
Do you have a car? Drive around Doha and see how many empty apartments and villas there are. See how many for rent signs are posted.
There is no incentive for landlords to lower prices here - but by no means is it a matter of "market forces" The markets are tightly controlled not "open"
Leonard, You said it right!! Rumours goin on as rent has come down since last year, when it comes to reality no differences at all. Check GULF TIMES CLASSIFIDES as well which is more affordable and approachable. Check with your social networks also.
For your info the prices went a lot down the last year, but yes accommodation is still very expensive in Doha due to small offer vs high demand, just a market rule!
Try to negotiate the prices with the agent or change your criteria of search (smaller, sharing...).
