(All the maltese here are so closely related, breeding them only makes pups who die of genetic disorders, usually painfully). Will you take the dog with you when you leave Qatar? Be very careful of people who go on to every thread where an animal is offered saying they want it, they are often the people who just give them to friends as presents and don't keep them as pets.

They don't always realise that they still need to be trained or they will take over your house and bite anyone who comes near you. I have seen many Maltese pass through more than 10 owners in a short time because he is oh so cute but has behavioural problems. Eventually they have to be put to sleep.
In many cases, a large adult dog does not need that much more space than a small dog. If you have a backyard it doesn't really matter as long as you intend to walk the dog. If you intend to keep a small dog in an apartment all the time with a litter tray instead of walks, you should buy a toy instead, that is very, very wrong.
