ASPIRE>>>>do they still accept new members? i had a bad experience going there cuz the recep people are not very keen in customer relationship.
first time i went there, the lady didnt accept my application cuz apparently i lack 1 ID pic. i ask her if i can come tomorrow to give the other pic and she refused
>>her reason: if i will be starting tomorrow she will accept it but the thing is they are always giving 1 month lag b4 u can start. just to give me a lame reason..duh!
second time, after a week, pic on hand..i was eager to enroll and the same lady told me that they already stopped accepting NEW members..blah blah blah..wtf!
third time, this month, again i go and infront of me is a lady who has a lot of questions and unmistakenly NEW, jadid, pudiya, bago was accepted and am next, i ask for a new membership , guess what? nada! NO! Nein! NYet!!!
well, i went outside and just asked myself, is it becuz i dont speak the same lingo? >>>just askin'
please advice my broken heart...Peace!!

I am working in aspire in one of their tech. departments and I know for a fact that for staff also they have a 1 month waiting period..but for general public the law is applicable..this is done so that they can estimate the no. of people turning up in a month...to avoid a jam packed gym or basketball court etc.

also u do need a foto id otherwise they dont allow membership

dats for ur own safety so that in case u get injured playing fball or something they knw hu to contact(they take ur contact infos as well)

also

they dont giv u 3 month membership cos many many ppl opt out of the membership after 1 month or just stop coming and then they cant take in new members cos the facilities will be over crowded..

cheers

Yeah, I know, it's an issue with overcrowding. They tried to fix the problem by using sign-up sheets and a "reservation" system and that didn't work. Now they issue cards and turn people away at the door and it's still not a good system. BUT, it's the best game in town, it's cheap and I find it very "inspiring" to be part of a class that is empowering women, some for the first time, to know and understand and use their bodies in a healthy way. For that I will take the crowds.

mandi, honestly I had a hard time enrolling into aspire. Until i contacted the manager, i haven't got enrolled.. well, it was almost 1 year ago...so I got a membership first for 1 month (they do NOT allow you to enroll for 3 months right away..why??), then for 3 months...didn't like it...never renewed my membership.. it's not that i didn't like the classes.. but.. the studios are overpacked.. if the instructor is good and popular (like Paula), you have to be in front of the door 30-40 minutes prior the class, and wait in the queue, otherwise you either will have a spot too far away, or have a risk not to get into studio at all, due to overpacking... And what kind of fun is that when other 50-60 bodies are jumping in front of you and waving their hands and legs.. and you have to move carefully in order not to touch someone’s hand or leg and not to be touched by them...

there are emptier classes, but they are not worth your time to be there…

I think they should increase a fee a bit, and make more classes with the limited number of attendees at the studio.. not more than 25. (It is impossible to exercise effectively with 50-60 people around, jumping very close to you)...then most likely I will come back...

Inside the women's fitness center are five or so workout rooms, including a room with stationary bicycles for spinning, a weight room, a pool and locker room with showers. In the foyer is a reception desk and waiting area.

the fees soooo cheap, and of course they have their max capacity so cant take all the applicants.

Andre, that's just not true! It's not a matter of "not wanting you." They are full up right now and there's a one-month wait. Why would you get up on your high horse and talk about "respect" if it results in your taking umbrage and denying yourself going to a really good gym? "They" at the reception desk aren't even at the gym so you won't see them again. Be patient and try again! "They" are trying to not overcrowd the classes so that we all can have a good work-out.

well, they are right about the 1 month lag. The memberships always start from the first of the following month.

So i guess your bad luck that they stopped accepting new ones a month later. But do try again next month. I think its a bit difficult cos its subsidized after all. But once in, no problems after that.

all the best

we had some problems there too, the lady gave my husband a hard time and so we got nothing done.

That made us mad , because she was saying stupid stuff and it seemed like she only wanted to get us of her back :(

I guess we should have complained.
