Try this: Make a chutney with the following ingredients:

1- 1 bunch of mint leaves.

2- 1 bunch coriander/ cilantro leaves.

3- 6-8 garlic cloves, finely chopped.

4- 1 teaspoon carom seeds (Ajwain)

5- 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped.

6- One green mango, skinned and seed removed, finely chopped (This ingredient is optional)

7- Salt to taste.

Blend the ingredients with a little water into a smooth paste.

Every morning, feed your child a slice of bread with this mint chutney.

These ingredients pep up the digestive system and increase appetite. Your child will begin feeling hungry soon after and will eat normally.

If you want a medicine, try Mosegor syrup. 1 teaspoon 1 hour before meals.

Hi, I am happy to give my opinion but please don't depend on it as the definitive answer, also seek guidance from the mothers group on QL and your doctor, I am not a doctor and shouldn't give firm advice without knowing an awful lot more about the individual. I do believe that a calm routine is helpful and as your doctor said, offer food and then calmly remove it from sight if it is upsetting him. The main thing is not to create a stressful mealtime that the whole family dreads.

Maybe you could try making some soup liquidising vegetables and follow it with a rusk if he manages a few sips. You could try putting it in a grown up cup and allowing him to sit on your knee and take a few sips and then gradually move to the table when he feels secure.

Please ask the mothers for more advice regarding the behaviour, they will know better from bitter experience but he may just be having a clingy stage.

Good luck, JJ

You might be feeding wrong food as per age. See specialist doctor. It is also possible to see Nutrion specialist so that you know what to feed and what time etc. I am not mum but I went through with my son.

Please be very careful with vitamins and do NOT give a higher dose to make up for not eating. It could be very toxic. Actually I would ask a doctor to advise you on the exact dose.

if you have already seen a pediatrician and they said that she has no other underlying problems...don't worry mommy, as you have said....C is very active... no child or person could be that active if she doesn't have the energy for it.., keep giving her vits though...

Don't panic, it's probably a normal phase many children go through. Try not to let her pick up your anxiety otherwise the message she gets is that mealtimes are something to fear.

Rule out basics like toothache, sore mouth or throat, mouth ulcers, tummy ache sore bottom(the most common complaint in my experience)and keep a note of bowel and urine movements, for example any diarrhoea or pain passing urine. Sometimes if a child has had a particularly painful or traumatic experience going to the toilet it can trigger this, especially if they are starting to make a link between food and tummy ache.

Try to keep a routine and offer her food, if she refuses, take it away with no fuss. Make sure she is drinking plenty of fluids.

Just try for a few days to have a calm, stress free mealtime and hopefully she will gradually start to forget her mini phobia.

If you don't have any luck that way, see a doctor but don't let them make the situation even more hysterical. At that age you would expect some fluctuation in weight so don't worry. Maybe you could go to Carrefour and buy some nice Disney plates and have toys that are for children who have been good at dinnertime. Making that time more exciting may be enough.

Any signs of illness should be taken very seriously as if it is enough to put her off food, it must be bothering her.

I am a registered nurse both in adult and childrens'speciality.

the best thing I think for you to do is to see a peditrician.

Have you taken her to a specialist to ensure that she is not suffering from some sort of physical condition or imparement?
