Tequila Sunrise

Hi,

We will be having some mexican party this weekend and we are serving Margarita and Tequila Sunrise. Our number one problem is that we have nowhere to get crushed ice. Apart from blendering the ice, is there a place where i can buy a crushed ice? ( not the tube ice )

The success of my party is all at your hands.

Thanks,
Ollie

I was thinking the exact same thing MissX, either that or he would have nice bag of water.

There are ice crushers at Carrefour, little red ones that are shaped funny. I find the blender is the best bet, and if you do it in advance and stick it in the freezer it tends to not clump into a huge brick.

I think you will find if you buy pre-crushed ice, the minute it leaves the comfort of it's freezer on the way to your home, it will melt just the tiniest of amounts, and instead of being separate pieces, will actually be 1 large lump of ice with the appearance of separate pieces.

I think there are some electric devices designed for crushing ice, but I think your best best would be the trusty blender.

Here's some crushers just for your information

had a cinco de mayo party last night. Good fun for a work-night but need a nap today!

Just FYI, if you are serving food you should go to megamart. I got refried beans, jalapenos, tortillas, avacados, salsa, good tortilla chips, and papper jack cheese. They have it all...

Thank you for the info and link but the information on how to go to the factory was vague.

Does anybody know the name of the ice factory and the proper way of getting to that location.

Thanks!

Sometimes the supermarkets have it, but it's kind of hit-or-miss.

There's also an ice factory:
