My observation.

It's my observation that now everywhere you can find road construction, right and left,I found that one of many reasons of car accidents are those constructions with no signage or if ever there is one, it is so very closed to the road constructions or digging that many motorists are surprise when it is already in front of them.Isn't it there is a standard distance of putting a signage from every construction to aware the motorists ahead of time.I think it's the responsibility of the safety officer to check all these signage if there is one.

Suffer inconvenience in the short term for long term benefits.

Agree that signages etc. should be better. Safety first.

I've lived here over 5 years now. There is ALWAYS road construction in Doha. It was even worse a few years ago. Don't expect it to end soon---or ever. Yes, they should put more care into warning motorists of construction up ahead, but don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.

The speed cameras do work on the long straight roads. 2,000QR down I can vouch for that! The cameras also seem to be working on the red lights although it means Land Cruisers doing emergency stops on amber now, almost as dangerous. It isn't just about signs though, remember that the construction sites in themselves are dangerous if they don't follow Health and Safety. We shouldn't expect men to work in this environment just because they are poor. At Sport r/a the other day, a guy on a rostrum changing the bulb in a street light, no cones, traffic just pouring past him making the structure wobble but don't worry, another man was holding it for him. With wing mirrors clipping him as they shot past!

We (Govt & residents) must look out for such drivers and to remove them from the road for good or atleast with some strict punishments & fines.

.

Our Qatari friends have no fear for the rules, their own lives & no care at all for their own families too referring to the recent incident of one Qatari minister who died instantly due to 2 stupid drivers of land cruiser slammed his car head on to Minister's car.

your observation is just one of the reasons for Accidents in Qatar.

.

Major cause is RECKLESS driving without following rules & regulation and also not caring for the lives of own & others
