Yummie Haribo Winegums and Liqorice

Dilmun
By Dilmun

Hi everybody,
can anybody please explain this phenomenon to me?? My favorite Haribo winegums and liqorice are banned in Qatar, cause they believe here, that Haribo uses some piggy-porky-jelly. Which is absolutely not true, because Haribo has extra products for the muslim world. Just check the website.
So, how comes, that they can't figure it out here in Qatar while you can get the whole Haribo assortment in Saudi???!!!

I want my yummy gummybears!

I kept looking since June last year. And that was, when they told me about the ban.

I think I just gonna move to Saudi :)

Dilmun, keep looking. I used to get the Haribo gummy bears here, but now that I think about I haven't seen them in a long time.

Sometimes things disappear for months or years and then reappear again. That's life in Doha.

in my pancreas are some cells that produce precious insuline to help digest all those yummie-gummie-bears :)

Midget gems are ok but ususally sold out immediately. Just grabbed 15 bags in Marks & Spencer.

And toffees are no substitute, cause they are not fatfree.

I like to think I do myself something good while nibbling.

why not good old Irish toffee or as my husband says Midget Gems?

We used to get them but me too have been looking for them all over. I love them too and yes they are much better than any other brand.

that is what they claim. Obviously they can't read the list of ingredients properly. But who needs the teaching here??Any idea?

Is it perhaps that they think the gelatine has been derived from a porcine source?

I have scanned and searched and sifted and browsed all supermarkets and finally asked Mega Mart, where they're hiding the good stuff. Cause honestly, the 'Bassets wingums' are not even a poor substitute. MegarMart staff told me than, that poor innocent Haribo goldbears are banned from Qatar, because of this piggy-porky-jelly, which (again) is not used in any Haribo products for the muslim countries! That is obvious well known in Saudi, but not here!?! And Haribo is sooooo much better than those winegums they have here, because they don't use artificial coloring or artificial flavours!

And since my pancreas is working well, I want my gummybears!!!! BOOOHOOOHOOO
