Qatar Charity - What is this ?
Few days ago I went down to Villagio for lunch with my son, and on the entrance of the food court end my son pointing out this Qatar Charity big green box and ask what is this?
My bet, this is the box that you can put the stuff that you want to give away to people through Qatar Charity.
Anybody can confirm that? And can anyone clarify what you can and can not put inside the Qatar Charity Green Box or whatever name you call this box is?
Thank you happy.
I saw their car once rooming around Doha street and saved their number for such occasions when I need them to help me do good deed.

Also, this link, below, is in Arabic (I’m not sure if there is one in English), contains a video that shows their activities.

Hello
I would like to know the phone number of those people who come and take extra food.. Do they take old clothes also if we call them?
Thank you
WOW, cool.
I was always looking for something like this, as I always go through cloths that are hardly used or still in good shape that I wish I can give out.
thank you for pointing this out.
I hope they Circulated all over Qatar.

May I say that this refers to the Fund are important as color posters, turquoise, it refers to the environment and humanitarian work and it also I think that the work planned with vision and goal
infront of Al-Meera Bin Omran there's also this green steel box been dropping some old stuffs twice during Gaza siege.
It's such an easy way to give donations - this is exactly what we want to be able to do with QAWS. To have collection bins where people can buy a can of food when they're shopping and drop it in.... One day we will....

Oh yes Mandi, now I remember you said you'd be gone for Easter. See you soon, I guess.
You missed a really lovely event last night btw.
Oops sorry Novi....
Qatar Charity donation box........
One more week, NFH! I'm counting the days. Gotta spend Easter here first, then I'm on a plane the next day!
Mandi
Yes, it's about time.
Mandi, are you back? I can't keep track of you, girl.
Great, this is wonderful!

these items are then sold in small charity fairs.
or sent to needy ppl. There is one centre in Al Meera
in Mansura (currently active) and one near Souq waqif.
ee, it's for recycling clothes.
Agree with Vegas - "They need to take the recycle emblem off the side"
- The recycle emblem suggests that it's s trash bin and Qatar Charity sponsored that trash bin, promoting or encouraging people to recycle stuff. Of course, the T-Shirt picture on the box raises suspicions that this is not so, but how many people think to verify their assumptions in Qatar? ... except for Novi and like minded people. Generally, people don't. When they don't know, they also don't ask and just don't bother.
Thanks Novi for posting and Speed for explaining :0)
/I don't have any old clothes or shoes to donate. I wash and wear the same outfits every week. My colleague taught me how to answer anyone who criticizes me for being dull. Ask critic to buy me a brand new outfit and then I'll wear something new. Good one, eh?

this box is for the colthes that you dont need them (clothes only)you can drop it in the box. and qatar chiraty give them to the poor people who need it.
Weasel, you shouldnt chuck it .... if you folded it nicely and leave it inside the plastic bag and put it next to the bin near the construction area, someone will take the bag (usually the worker). I usually does that with my husband clothes.
I have been looking for these ever since I arrived here. Guilty of chucking unwanted clothes in regular bins as I didn't see any alternative.
so if this 'green box' taking used clothes or shoes, we can drop our old ones on the way buying new ones to the mall?
Speed ... thank you for explaining, if they have these 'green boxes' around the mall certainly it would be easier for us to give away our old clothes and stuff to Qatar Charity.
So apart of old clothes or maybe shoes, what else can we put inside?
Anyone?

We like to cook "Big" when we invite people, we would usually distribute whatever we can to the neighbors, but they would get unusually large portions (there's too much food).
They also have a phone number that you can call, and they would come in a van, pick-up any extra food, and distribute it to lots of poor people in normal portions.

When I go to Villagio or is there a similar receptacle near the airport area?
Anybody has an idea?
Yes azi, that's right. They've had things like this in the UK for years and years.
mid-August?

in this receptacle (picture)?
I do have some old clothes (t-shirts, jalabiyas, bags and old shoes I could dispose of and some other stuff that other people might find useful.
inside this recycle box placed in different Malls.

so the street sweepers can do the job for them :-)
lol - people don't put trash in bins in Qatar!
I think they will get trash as well unless they explain it better...

Looks like a clothes & shoes recycling box. I know Qatar Charity have always accepted clothes and shoes, but it's good that they're now making it obvious and easy to do.
