Twitterati!

I fell in love with Dan Brown’s ‘Angels and Demons’ the moment I finished reading the first few pages. I loved the way he formed his story around the ‘Illuminati’. Now, years after I first read the book, I’m finally feeling like an ‘enlightened one’ myself.

I always have the habit of taking my own sweet time to convince myself that I should try out a new form of media, and that’s exactly what I did with this Twitter thingie…

Now that I’ve started using Twitter, I’m into it with a vengeance. I’m slowly getting the hang of it and I hope to become more regular in the coming days.

I heard that Twitter can be updated via mobile phones… (Am still waiting for my activation code to be confirmed).

I can very well see why this thing is considered to be the next big thing in citizen journalism…

Twitter is fun. I’m surprised not many posts have been in QL about Twitter. Care to share your Twitter experiences, if any?

Now all your friends and acquaintances don't have to wait until they log in to FB to find out when you've broken a fingernail or burned your toast....they can find out instantly!

:-D

Go to www.twitter.com and sign up. It's free. You can do the status updates from your computer. Doing it from mobile is not essential.

I have been thinking about this for a while, it sounds great. One thing, I don't know how it works. Do you have to subscribe and pay a regular payment? Do you have to have a Blackberry type phone? Sorry to be so thick, JJ

Tarek, thanks for the list of people, i appreciate it. I'm following most of them. Looks like a nice bunchof people, mostly from Jazeera... (and thanks for following me too, hehe).

Darude, thanks. I'm liking the new service.

One question, guys. Can you just tell me what are the charges for updating twitter through Qtel? What charges will be applicable? Thanks.

mj - it's like your FB status. You update it to let people know what you're doing or to bring things to peoples attention. You can subscribe to friends twitter feeds and be kept updated with their entries.

It's been around for ages, but for some reason it suddenly went mainstream over the last few months. Of course, as soon as that happened it stopped being cool :D
