Hi there my suggetion is dont aim for STandard banks they wont give u a loan at all because of ur job profile and salary. I can say this cause i am working for a bank. Best option would be aim for smaller banks and u might just get through. But u will end up paying high interest of course.

Majnoon Ajnabi, I wouldn't believe if you say you obtain permission from your bank every time you travel! Bank lending is quite different in this region when compared with the banks operating in Europe, North America and Australia. I agree that banks should not lend to high risk borrowers but I completely disagree when you say 'they do not'. If they had not, we would have not been in financial crises--you negated your own point.

Personal loans are typically not fully unsecured. Of course there is no collateral and mostly no guarantees involved, but there is an undertaking from borrower's employer to transfer borrower's salary and all financial dues including service end benefits to the bank. This gives bank a comfort to recover a very small percentage of the loan in case of a default. Rest is on insurer. Let me assure you that risk management process does not take the factor in how often one travels outside the country to classify someone a high risk borrower. I would not classify cabin crews high risk borrowers just because the nature of their job that requires them to travel a lot. do you think airline pilots are high risk borrowers due to their nature of job? Certainly not. When banks assess a loan application, they generally base their decision on applicant's salary, current liabilities, financial history/record, period in job, employer's reputation etc.

I suggest to stay away from all the banks (I am no longer in banking business so you don't have to single out a bank!) and don't take loans unless it is inevitable.

let me know which bank you work at so I can stay away from there. Actually it is quite difficult to flee the country unless of course you happen to be a cabin crew member and are always in another. Banks do not lend or should not lend to high risk borrowers especially if it is a non secured loan such as a personal loan. Because banks got sloppy is one of the reasons the economy is where it is now.

Anyone could flee the country without repaying the debt, not just the QA Cabin crews. Infact banks insure the personal loans at the expense of the borrowers..so they are covered. It's hard to believe that any bank would have a policy not to lend to someone because he/she is a cabin crew. Banks do not function that way. I am saying this because I have seen it in practice as a banker.

its Qatar Airways Cabin Crew that none of the banks wants to give loan since there are too many of these people who fled the country without paying theie dues

Getting a personal loan has become tougher these days as banks have tightened the credit. Still I think you should be able to get loan from some of the banks. Obviously they need business and their major business is lending. Check with Alkhaliji bank, Doha Bank and Ahlibank. typically they are less rigid they others. Hope it helps.
