How can I ship my car to India? What are the custom charges and does one have to pay a bribe to get through the customs? Thanks a bunch.

you have to think a lot more bfore taking such a step.The tax is really high.The permissions are tough to achieve.service..left hand drive..more over, the cars from here cannot withstand the indian road conditions.

Shipping a Car to India is next to impossible due to the Left Hand Drive v/s Right Hand Drive issue.
To make things tough the import duty is close to 120%.
Even if you are willing to go through all of this the car will be sent for Homologation(Road worthiness) and as soon as it is a Left Hand Drive Car it will fail the test.In a lot of cases if that is not the issue they still have a right to keep the car for as long as they want under the "Homologation" process and you may never be able to drive your car.....get wise and buy a car in Inda rather than exporting it from here...
