ECONOMIC CRISIS IN UAE - IS IT FAIR ????

I heard some Companies in U.A.E terminated there old staff in one way and in other way they are recruting new staff @ low salaries.

For Example One of Majour chain of Super Markets K.M. Trading in U.A.E. terminated some of there old employees more than 15-20 years experience. Most of them started with salary @ of 1000 to 1200 Dhs and adding to yearly increment (just 50Dhs to 100Dhs) presently getting 2.5 to 3k per month. After cancelling there job Visas they are recruiting new Nepalese staffs - Salary @ 700 Dhs per month. This is totaly unfair and against Labour ethics.

Whoes Master mind behind this? The owner or HR Manager? Lot of Companies doing this process in UAE.

Is this because of Economic Crisis?????

this does not happen only in UAE. here in qatar, i know of some companies who terminated their old employees while at the same time, trying to recruit new ones. i know this is due to the global crisis but really, this is a very cruel thing to do. job security is really non-existent in this part of the world.

I always like to argue for the defence:

So you want them to lose money just to keep the spoilt old employees, instead of injecting their companies with fresh blood, while saving lots of money.

if you can get somebody cheaper to do the same work, course you would higher the lower paid one. Not saying it is right but it is the pragmatic approach if you are tightning your belts!
