Probably the most answered: cost of accommodation...

My wife and I, and two kids, are thinking of moving to Qatar for work. The burning question we have, given some research we have just done on the internet, is deciding on what we want.
We would like to live in something like a four bedroom villa with a pool. I was told that this might be cheaper in the suburbs - ie 30/40 mins from CBD. Does anyone know how much we can expect to pay for soething like this? What about the area? We don't want to be too far away from the expat community.
Thanks, Michael and Maria

Only 80% for housing allowance...why not 100%.

your negotiating skills should maximized in order to get a better benefit and of course if you get it to 100% housing will be on the company (one less element to worry about), then you can face some other expenses on your own pocket.

Regards!!!

Thanks. I'm trying to negotiate an 80% living allowance. From what I can see accommodation looks fairly expensive otherwise.

Well, 15-20,000 anyway. And there really aren't suburbs here, everything just seems quite a drive from everything else. But your employer usually provides housing.
