Is it Possible for a Filipino, Graphic Designer, who have a Pulmonary scar to work in Doha, Qatar. But have a Medical certification here in the Philippines that it is not a major threat to health.
weve same problem i was choose by qatar airways to work for them as cctv operator but i failed the exm due to xray ptb but in sputum and other exam i was negative my agency here in phil told me that they will ask my employer if they will waive my result im still waiting here
hi, i have visited qatar in october for job and stayed for 4 months but was send back because i did not clear my medical exam as they diagnos Old Pulmonary TB about which i never knew they confirmed it by doing a PPT test but when i visited chest specialist in my home country they were of the opinion that u do not need any kind of treatment as this case was not severe at all and TB might had happened slightly at some point of time if i wish i can go through a small treatment course which might help in my PPT test because i want to come back as my company is willing to issue me the visa once again kindly advise me what should i do for my medical in qatar will they accept my home country reports n should i try once more.your help will help me alot thanx
I have had an offer from Qatar too, and a good one at that. However, the clinic will not issue a Fit to Work confirmation unless the employer give a Medical Waiver because of my pulmonary scar from a fully cured infection thirty years ago. The clinic inform me that this is due to a new guideline from GAMCA. We may work in any other country without any problem due to this "scar" but for GCC countries like Qatar we need a Waiver from our employer.
I have already emailed my employer explaining this predicament but after one week there is still no reply. Which could be a good sign,(according to my never say die heart), since my employer could just simply say NO and that would be the end of it. Well, since he still has not replied, I am just imagining that he is looking for ways to let me in.
I have made some research too and one article in Gulf Times was very clear, "If TB is detected early and fully treated, people with the disease quickly become non-infectious and eventually cured." Keep in touch bro, and let me know of your progress re your visa application from the embassy.
Thank you very much for your time reading my letter.
I came there last February feeling healthy and strong and all that but there it hits me (BAM!) all my dreams for my family... gone! Just because of that tiny little scar.
I think you know how the economy runs here in the Phlippines thats why I'm struggling my way to work abroad.
I badly needed that Job there. I hope the Qatar embassy here consider all my Supporting Medical Documents and Xrays and Certification from a Pulmonologist.

that will be the decision of the medical officer who will sign your medical evaluation in Philippines. it is not about u being filipino (lol) or a graphic designer (c'mon!). it is about a pulmonary scar. the health policy of Qatar is that pulmonary scars indicates having had contracted a disease. the bacteria may be dormant in your body, and therefore poses a potential threat.
even if your medical exam in Philippines, you would still be required to take a chest xray here, and if found with this scar, you may be sent to the health center where they will test you further, and most probably give you prophylactic treatment. i don't think they will send you home.
the thing is that the medical centers in Philippines are very strict with this, because if something went amiss, they will be held liable for passing somebody carrying this bacteria, however dormant.

It depends how it appears on the chest x ray. You may be required to have a CT scan or pictograph.
