I propose an aptitude test for all employees

I suggest that every person abided by the Labour Law of Qatar be given an aptitude test depending upon a certain type of profession to see if one person can have the capability to practice his/her profession properly by a series of such related assessments from the lowest to the highest position possible for international expertise in the related field. We were given this type of tests when I was hired back home and I think it only serves it right that I also take such tests as a means to regulate the influx of incoming employees, including myself, who are fit to work 'mentally' and who cannot, other than the physical exams.
And let's make this aptitude tests IN ENGLISH!!
I guess Interview is to understand the suitability of a candidate for a particular post..and If you pay peanuts you will get only monkeys....
or if not, then have a yearly work/personal assessment...
It's good idea, but it would mean that 75% of the working population would be leaving very soon...
But that would help to solve the traffic problems wouldn't it?
Aren't these tests administered when you apply for the job ?

hi brit, not all companies are professional in this area. most companies unfortunately do not administer these tests, let alone know what those tests are, how are they administered, and what they stand for. lol.
they just screen CVs, get all hanged up on high-sounding degrees and certificates, interview and that's it.
so i guess the answer to your post is NONE of the aBove.

I did encounter in the past that some have masterals and doctorates degree but sure don't know how to use a computer, much less contruct a simple English sentence.
My point is, you're in Qatar, you talk to people of different nationalities and the only means of communication is ENGLISH.
