What's working in Qatar like?

Everything's coming together nicely now. But one important question remains:

What's working like in Qatar? I know every company has it's own working culture. But is it possible to make general statements like: Most office people start at 8 and work until 4 (that's at least true for where I am now). What's life offshore like? Maybe someone can even draw a comparison btw. Qatar and the Nothsea. Office dresscodes? Whatever I'm not thinking off now.

Thanks.

Study well about Qatar and working hours before you head for it. Meet your friends ask them who has worked and visited Qatar. Read about 'Sponshor Rule'-Give a google search.

Offshore = either a 14/14 rotation or 28/28 or more...

14/14 means 2 weeks onshore and 2 weeks offshore... most poeple on 28/28 wouldn't have family in Doha, and go back to their home country (month on and month off).... Probably Offshore... helicopter .. doha resting place .. airport .. home country .. airport .. helicopter .. offshore.

North Sea is Freezing, Qatar Sea is between Oven (summer) and Quite Cold (now).

North sea offshore needs a HUET/BOSIET, Qatar sea offshore only needs a simpler T-HUET/T-BOSIET.

Offshore dress code is a colored full-body suit, safety shoes, glasses, helmet.

Every Office is different, some do 7-3 (government), some do 8-12 then 2-5, some have flexible time (any time you want any break you want -once, as long as you are there for 8 hours and be there during the core work hours)

Office dress code can be different from place to place (Most don't have an official dress-code), but if you similarly to what's in most of the world you'd be ok.
