I am looking for a live in / live out female white European to help me look after our son? Must speak good English. Are there such aupairs available in Doha?

The above answer about visa restrictions is rubbish - I have a british passport, and other nannies I know are irish, australian or british too. Plus when I do the school pick up I see some au-pairs from europe who the parents have brought out to Qatar with them when they moved out. Not sure how complicated it is to arrange the sponsorship but there is definitely NOT a restriction on what nationality you can hire to do the job!

unfortunately, visa restrictions makes your options very limited. only asians or Athiopians are allowed in these type of jobs.

Whatever you do, be careful of one agency called "Jassim Decorations and Services". Only God knows where they hire their maids from.

Your only real possibility of finding a european nanny here is if there is a daughter of one of the families who live out here who is finished school and looking for work. Not sure how easy it would be to find someone though. I think the only real option of finding a western au pair/nanny here is to go through an agency in the UK or in europe and sponsor someone to come out - but then you would have to bear in mind that you would be paying a european/british equivalent salary.

I am working as a governess here and came out through my british agency and the only western nannies I know here all came through UK agencies too. Good luck!
