I was reading about these last week in Malaysia - they are fantastic, but currently only available up to 250GB, and very expensive. As long as they take off like LCD displays have we're in for exciting times.
For me:
1. Cell phones are 10 a penny, but I'd like to see my dream version: Gets a signal almost anywhere. GPS with usable maps and a screen big enough you can use it in car. usable space for a shed load of MP3s (ie 64GB minimum) and a 10mp camera. bundle all this with a battery that will last 3 weeks and you've got my order.
2. A PC based laptop that weighs in like a Mac Book Air but has internal CD/DVD and huge HDD (SSD)

By the end of 2009:
1. More people will receive their daily newspaper by email than read the printed versions.
2. QL will be the most popular website in Qatar, leap-frogging Qatar University and the Ministry of Interior.
3. The Qatar Computer Society will be formed, giving professional accreditation to those working in IT.
4. Vodafone will launch their services in June. Customers will be ranting on QatarLiving about network problems until after Ramadan.
5. QSTP software projects will be slow to get off the ground, as US companies concentrate on core business.
6. The Peninsula might get a new website.

Seems to be pretty close to what you are suggesting.
Someone who is tech savvy needs to do a Google Earth based directory of businesses and addresses for Qatar....like and online yellow pages that not only gives the phone # and discription but also the grid coordinates so that someone can find it without going to the 3rd yellow door after the 2nd round about.
Loose your mind and find your heart.
1) Having a new mobile provider should at least temporarily spike up the interest in dual-sim phones. BTW, are there any good ones currently ?
2) I don't know if this is a prediction, but I do hope that the Vodafone entry lowers the cost for businesses to network their disconnected locations. The MPLS charges that QTel now has for VPN is obscene compared to any other country/company "who think they know what they are doing" (TM).

More Advanced and atleast good looking cell phones.
Vodafone won't make a difference, people taking ow for hours will also talk for hours next year.
