Car modification in Doha (need ur suggestion)

Dear all QL'r

Can anybody help me with these..?

I would like to fit a 19"/20" rims on a 2006 Honda Accord just like my car in Indonesia (picture attached). I also need to customize the suspension system with an adjustable coilovershock kit till some of the rims 'sink' inside the fender. For 'sinking' the rims I also need to make the fender a little bit wide (about 1-2cm) by pulling the fender out (not by adding a fibreglass to the fender lips). The result will be just like the picture of my previuos car attached below. No bodykit, no fibreglass adding, just looks like a lowered stock car with a huge sized rims..

I also wanna paint my car with a holographic paint which can be different looking when we see it in daytime and nite. And for finishing I want to instal a racing exhaust with a sporty sound..

- Can Qatar road regulation allow that kind of customizing?

- Should I report to the road police before I do the customizing and repaint?

- Is there any paperwork cost for reporting a customized car and repaint car to the road police? For how much averagely? As we will change the previous color written in the registration..

- Where can I found a workshop who can do a customizing and painting in Doha?

- I'm looking for a 19 inch or 20 inch rims with 4 nut holes (fit to many japanese sedan) or with a 5 nut holes (fit to BMW or Mercedes Benz sedan). I've went to one speedshop in Salwa road but they are refused to give me those size as they said that sizes is only for escalade. But actualy in my country, Indonesia, we usualy fit a 20 inches to Honda Jazz easily. Is there anyone can show me where to buy those rims here in Doha or any shop that can help me to import it from overseas?

- Anyone knows where to find an adjustable coilovers that slides over your OE Struts (to lowered your car / picture attached). It was a dress up kits consist of a lowering springs and a billet threaded cylinder complete with locknuts. I've found one chinese made in Old Salata road but sadly it was for Nissan Maxima. Do anybody knows where to find a shops in Doha which sell those items for many japanese sedan models? Or is there any shops can import the items from overseas if it was not avaialble here in Doha?

Thank you so much for your kindly attention..

Hello all, I read most of your comment here. Most of you know much about car. I got Nissan 350z model 2008. I'm planning to modify it. Any suggestion where can I do it easily? Mostly I'm ordering parts from ebay. I don't know much about car, but I'm interested in turbo, tuning, body kit, neon, clean in engine side, lowered, suspension, vinyl, sound system. Pretty much like the autoshow in asia. I need someone who i can trust that know what is the best for my car.

Hi supeesh,

I was wondering if you can do an engine swap in Land Cruiser 200 (2009 model). Basically I am thinking about swapping the 4.0L V6 with the 5.7L V8. I can buy a clean used engine myself or perhaps you could buy for me. I want to know the total cost for swapping. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

lol seto ur a clown!wherever you copied those words from, they make NO SENSE!!!!meantioning words like 20 Htz, ECU, 3-dimentional, OBDII does not make you an ECU programmer. So tell me buddy, which maps do you touch? ( they are not 3 dimentional by the way! NON IS! MAPS are bits of data VS memory locations on the ROM of your ECU and can be viewed differently based on the interface you are using! ) Protocols to read and write differ for EVERY car!, which is why you need tools worth a LOT of money to Flash tune cars! Also, Air Fuel is a SMALL part of tuning! There is WAY MORE THINGS than adjusting your AIR Fuel tables! So tell me man, How many degrees of timing at high end do you recomend for a SCed C63 with long tubes, cats, Evo. S pulley, LSP differential and Okada Ignition coils? Does your VP12 magically predict these values? HOW DOES YOUR SMART VP12 KNOW if a car is stock or if it is modded?Do you give people you tune for a complimentary set of pistons to use when their's pop like fireworks?--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The VP12 temporarily replaces parts of this map with parts from our highly tuned performance maps, and will safely unleash your engine's full potential, without voiding the warranty.ARE YOU ON ACID??? Who are you man? Do people actually give you their cars??????

Nice marketing Supeesh..I believe you are an engineer graduated from a well known campus in India or even from Europe, coz only limited people who can do a 'magic' in an european engine, not even the dealer.. Well, I'm a ship engineer for Qatar biggest gas company, most of my time handling their ships's Mitsubishi Marine Turbodiesel engine who can produce more than 180,000 horsepower. I feel boring with this huge engine, maybe someday I can learn something from you.. :)

we dont talk. we show the dyno test result b4 and after our work. our customers is the best proof for our work.and unfortunatly we are not cheep. we know what we do. and we take the responsibility if something goes wrong. we give reasonable warrenty for our work. if u r interested u can call me. 66069426.we may give special discount for some customers. that depends.we did c63 amgbmw alpina.http://www.fluidmotorunion.com/archives/8097and more.. you can instal the best air filter. and it will give more power during cold season. and durig hot season, it takes more hot air.. which is useless. the reason is most of the people remove the casing for air filter and fit the free flow filter exposed to engine room. so what happens is, the engine will take the hot air inside the engine room. so u r not gaining anything. you are loosing thermal efficiency. do what ever u want. but u must think abt the temperature in qatar. thats the main problem. anything on ur car engine must b done by some one who knows well. because here we have hot as well as cold season. any tune on the car must be suitable for both. otherwise you will face problems.. the ECU of a car is costly. a small lose contact is more than enough to spoil it. and we dont charge customers for our mistakes. so our charges are not cheep....

the water meth kit sounds interesting supeesh,,,how much does it cost? i recently put an air intake,, and it wasnt aem or k&n,or even injen,,guess what i put an weapon r secret air intake,,adds like a little bit of hp and torque, but without dyno, how would i know,,i just feel the gain hehehe. my first gear was like 60km reving at 7rpm, its slow i know but its d15z 1.5 15years old engine :( wat to do yane!?i stopped,i min i pause my self in modifying my car coz ill be going for estamara shit and all,,and recently i talk to one filipino guy who can do an ENGine Swap!wow..he has dyno and all,,problem is i cant find a twin cam engine anywhere,or the famous b16,i went all over industrial area cant find it..but i saw a JDM d15b vtec-e,well i dont know if its good enough and i need a obd 1 for that.. peace out..I LOVE MY HONDAI should have bought ur Ek SETO grrr..

Go ahead and squeeze your wallet.. Keep my words, I can upgrade your performance 15%-20% only with a piece of US$100. How? I will reflash and instal a VP12 software on your ECU. The VP12 is the most powerful Dynamic Soft-Flasher. Operating at 20MHz with plenty of Flash Memory, the VP12 offers extended compatibility and faster patching for higher, more consistent gains. The VP12 is a vehicle specific, custom programmed 20MHz Microcontroller. It utilizes its high speed serial input/output to communicate directly with the ECU through the OBD-II port. Inside your ECU is a 3-dimensional table of values called a map. This table tells your fuel injectors exactly how much fuel to deliver given current air temperature, density, engine speed, throttle position, and other variables. From the factory, this map is generic and designed to provide a sluggish, no-surprises style of driving to suit a wide range of drivers. The VP12 temporarily replaces parts of this map with parts from our highly tuned performance maps, and will safely unleash your engine's full potential, without voiding the warranty. To whoever promise you about performance, try to compare their price and their technical explanation, then you decide..

go to them... whom ever u want...i promise that i can give more power than any of these people...because we did a c63 which was done by brabus b4.after our work, that c63 became the fastest in qatar. we got more power output than brabus. if u want, i can show u the dyno result..race that c63.. and win the race... if u think that others can give u more power....

Gauravahluwalia, the first thing you need to do to upgrade your sound system is buy a set of high performance power amplifier and subwoofer. I believe Mercedes Benz still using Harman Kadron speaker set install as a stock soundsystem which is perfect enough to produce clear and crisp sound. So what you need is just add some subwoofer to get a more deep bass and a power amplifier which is strong enough to blast the sub. Remember, clear and crisp sound is not only produce by a high end and expensive electronic device, but it's depend on how the set up done. Many shop here can install audio system but they don't know how to set up, how to divide the sound and how to purify the music. I found an audio shop in Matar Qadeem which the mudeer said his audio mechanic was a winner of an audio contest in Dubai. And you know what, that embasil mechanic don't know what is an audio crossover use for!!!About exhaust, I suggest you to change only the muffler and exhaust tip. No need to change with a full system if you don't go for race. There's so many brand like Brabus, Carlsson or Remus for your Mercedes exhaust replacement..

em....i can help with making ur exhaust sound better.what i reccoment is to do some modification on exhaust and tune. that will give some extra sound and it will make u say WAW when u drive. if u need more power then add a water meth kit. that will be perfect. (i guess u dont use ur car for racing.) i cant say how much it cost if u go to other people to get it done. but i can tell u how much we charge... regarding the sound system. if u dont have a 5.1 surround, then we have to see what we can do on it. if u want to make it louder, then u must add an extra amp and speaker with heigher watts.go throught the website given below inorder to get some idea abt us.http://www.fluidmotorunion.com/archives/8149here u can see the c63 amg we have done. and this is not the only car we did.

hi yusef...well...the oxygen in air dpend on altitude..the temperature has no relation with the % of oxygen in air.different gas have different density. so the gas with more weight will stay lower and light gas goes up. think abt the gas we fill inside the ballons to go up...now lets come the cold air into the engine. what happens inside the engine is we burn the air + fuel. which means we are adding heat to the air. so what happens is air expand. since the temperature is heigh and expansion takes place in a compressed area, pressure develops. that pressure is pushing the piston down...hope u get my point.cold air produce more power since there wil be more air and it can expand more on adding heat and there by it develops more pressure.the hot air is already expanded to a certain percent and on adding heat it expand less.. so less pressure and less power.the heat added will be same in both case bcoz specific fuel have specific heating value.as per the thermodynamics law, for any heat engine, the the thermal efficiency depend on the initial and final temperature. and for a specific fuel the final temperature is constant which mean we can only play with initial temperature.so now it clear that engine needs cool air. now the question is how can we cool the air.?cool intake?how cool u will get? can u go below the atmospheric temperature? a cool intake help not to add extra heat from the engine room. thats all.... that is, in qatar if the outside temperature is 45 degree. the air going inside will be 55 or more depend on how good the care is.. the cool intake makes it 50 or less depend on design.what we do to cool the air is...                                                                   we install water meth kits for the cars. the advantage is it cools the air without a intercooler and the temperature will be lower than the atmospheric temperature. if outside temp is 45, it cooles the air to 30 or less. again it varies based on design of cars and make..  but u must understand that this is not the only advantage.1) cools air then the outside temp2) the chemical we inject will prevent knocking and absorb heat from the engine3) we can tune the car and get more power out of it.4) offcourse you will save fuel... you can call me any time if u have any doubts...

IMO, (I'm not a rocket scientist) as long as it's the human whose shifting the gear...(whether its tiptronic or AMT technology) I consider it MANUAL.

When I'm still in high school until college I race for a Group N Touring Car Championship, Rally and Drag Racing. On 2003 I quit race and being the engine tuner only for my team. On 2005 I met a new world, the world of bike racing and I start to play road racing and drag bike for underbone bike. It's more fun coz the competition are held everywhere in the Asia even it was held in Qatar last 18th December 2010 in Losail. When I move to Doha I quit race and tuning 100%, I only play car exterior modification for fun coz I busy with my job in Ras Laffan and I have promise my family to be a good driver and leave my past..

Hi Yusef..

Nice to know that I have a slammed follower hehehehe..

Cold air intake is better, coz engine need fresh air with more oxygen particle than just only easy to suck. The more particle the more good mixture you have. Short intake sometimes again suck the heat of the engine which is contain less oxygen particle.

Lowered your car is to gain more stability and less body roll, and strut bar reinforce it to be more rigid.

I have a small trick if you would like to install a sport exhaust. Try to install an exhaust control valve, you can adjust the volume or loudness of your exhaust from your cabin. If you need it I still have one unit left for sale, just call me if you're interested..

and is it true that once youv lowered ur car it needs strut bar? I already ordered a set of strut bars for mi car though.

Jspec, give me your number and I will show you the car.. Four days ago I just sell an EG also to a Phillipino working in Hyatt Starbucks, and it was a manual shift..

Guys.. I'd like to sell my EK 1999 model. Manual transmission, yellow black color as per istimara, original 17" lenso D1R rims, Original D1 Spec Titanium bolts, Original D1 Spec shift knob, Original MOMO Drift steering wheel, etc.. Engine and injector running very smooth as the owner is a hobbies so definitely engine is in good condition.. Istimara until november 2011 so no headache of inspection for one year.. I offer 18K Riyals for the car and the price is negotiable, suppose you won't take the rims then I will cut the price 3K.. I'm not in hurry to sell the car or in need of money, perhaps somebody adore the car then I'll release it.. Call me on 55972311, my location is in Tatweer Gardens Compound, behind alfardan garden 4, when you pass Aramex runabout towards fish market you will see alfardan on your left hand after 400m passing.. The car parking infront of the compound..

i need only 6100 rpm to hit 280.

and other calculation was at extreme condition.

and same like speed lock there is a cut off point for rpm also. mine will not cross 6200rpm at stock condition.

leave those things. i just wanted to say that its not a big deal. and its not impossible.

thats all.

By jspec• 5 Dec 2010 22:34

You can not hit 8000rpm on your pathy? As far as I know its rev limited to 6700rpm and to rise your rev limit you should do modifications to your engine heads to withstand that much rpm

But I got yout point :D Yes it can hit 280 km/h if you remove the speed limiter and do supporting mods as its locked at 200 km/h what I like in the pathy is the long gear ratios (Which is really good for street driving) and only down side is offroad driving where some times you need lower ratio

ohhh sognabodl......

you took it seriously????

i will tell you what made me say that ok....

when i was at 200km/hr my rpm was just 4600.

max rpm is 8000 for my pathfinder.

and in my 5h gear 500 rpm makes 20 km.

so

at 5100 speed will be 220

at 5600 speed will be 240

at 6100 speed will be 280

and so on till 8000 rpm....

ok lets reduce this values.

lets say it goes at 200km/hr at 5000rpm

and 500 rpm makes 15km...

then also

5500 makes 215

6000 makes 230

6500 makes 245

7000 makes 260

7500 makes 275

8000 makes 290

so you see....

it can do 280km/hr by removing the speed lock. no need to do any alteration or modification. just stock car is enough. but only in dyno not in street....

friend... you cannot say that my car can never go in 280km/hr. if you fight with me then i will show you in real....

come on man...

i just mean the it has the potential. thats all...

what ever i told above is just a value depends on theory. its not possible in street with stock condition.

and you cannot say that i need more than 1000 bhp to do 280. how much power i need to make 280 will depend on drag force of air at 280km/hr, power to weight ratio. air fuel. may be i have to install a turbo or supercharger to get enough air to the engine. may be nitrous....

not only this...

the stability of the car, may b i have to install a spoiler to get enough grip for tires, suspension and

there are lots of lots of things must be taken care of...

still its not impossible...

its possible..

if you still dont agree, then buy a pathfinder, and i will do the alterations and modifications to go beyond 280 ok...

rye...

i think i have to buy a wind tunnel to make car for people like him...

you know the aerodynamics of pathfinder is not at all good for high speed. its SUV made for off road...

sognabadl.....

no heart feelings buddy...

every car is designed for some purpose..

if you want to do anything beyond that purpose..

it only means we have to redesign it so as to meet that purpose. nothing is impossible man...

if you can get your batfinder to do 280 km/h with less than 1000 bhp

then u are a star in the car modifying world.

have a saloon car back in my country,618 bhp 820 nm engine

max speed 288 km/h on a slick saloon body style and a very long straight.

no way a batfinder would do 280 km/h ever without rockets strapped to the back

@Alex:

SK Sport is one of a famous brand from Malaysia, mostly use in Touring Car race in Sepang Circuit. I heard that they develop their technology with TEIN. I bought it in Malaysia 4 years ago and fitted to my EK in Indonesia, now I brought the suspension here to fit on my EK in Doha..

I know about that yellow car, I just saw that car in Al Sadd once I'm almost finish my project as well.. Never mind, he did his EK better than me, two thumbs up.. I wish I could concentrate on my EK only then I definitely instal a carbon hood as well, not only a black paint..

@Jspec:

I have 3 Philippino on my waiting list looking for a manual shift EG, and you're the 4th hahaha.. I have 1 EK, 1 EJ and 3 EG for sale but only 1 is manual, the rest is matic..

and about the yellow EK with black hood... i think there's one already here in Doha... are you going to the same theme? Take note, the black hood is original carbon hood on that yellow EK... and the owner is a member of Team Gorgatz AFAIK...

I realized that EG is outdated and the rims is suitable only for VIP Style mods so I sell the car to a Syrian guy and the rims sold to a Philippino.. Now I replace my EG with an EK Hatchback 99 model, I fit 17" Lenso D1R on it complete with SK Sport Suspension. The car is still in finishing phase, suppose you met a yellow EK with black hood then that's me..

you still did not answer my question about the fender pulling? also I'm looking for an AE86 do you know/spot one in Doha?

By seto• 27 Oct 2010 02:45

Facing the truth that is difficult to find a shop and a garage to do modification in Doha drives me to do all the things by myself.. I import all the stuff from Singapore and Indonesia then installed it by myself..

I see here in Doha most of Philippino do a JDM modification style, the local Arabic more prefer to play offroad style and the Pakistani and some other Arabic countries implement a racing style on their car.. For me I'm more prefer to do what most Indonesian do to their car. Using big rims with a thin tires and make it low as it can..

Now I have modified 4 of my cars in Doha, not so heavy, only light modification to keep it comply with the regulation.

1. I finish my accord project.. I installed 20" rims with a very thin tires and make it low with a coilover. Bodykits and double sub + 3 amplifiers audiosystem also installed. APEXi VAFC-II piggyback also installed to harmonize the air, ignition and injector system. For exhaust I install an HKS product but now I remove it to pass the annual inspection. I modify it with a Japanese VIP Style modification which is not famous in middle east but is very famous in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Japan itself.

2. I'm on my way to finish my Mazda RX8 project. I mix a street racing style with a drift style.. I fit a 20" rims and thin tires as well. I use Tanabe racing suspension system, HKS air filter, HKS ignition system, Walbro fuelpump, DCSport Injector, Megan Racing exhaust system, APEXi valve controler, SARD carbon GTWing etc.. Still I try to fix my new Dastek Throttle module and it's drive me crazy. Also new drift spec rims still on the way from Indonesia..

3. Still I try to finish my Honda Civic EK9 hatch JDM replica. I instaled a 17" drift spec racing rims with titanium bolts, racing suspension system, HKS titan series exhaust, Jasma approved street camshaft, Prodrive sportseat, Greddy E-Manage etc..

4. I finish my Honda Civic Si racecar project for time attack with huge number of racing parts instaled, and the car bought by a local..

It's so fun to do it by my own hand, and I proud to drive it daily..

welcome man, but if you want a cheap (really cheap) drift car then you should look for A31 cefiro or TE72 corolla dx

I plan to build a budget race car for less than 15000 QR for lusail track days (only to have fun) and if I did something wrong its easy to fix and cheap.... thats why I hunting for a corolla dx

thank you jspec...

the reason why it failed was....

they shopped the frond axle instead of altering the differentials....

By jspec• 23 Oct 2010 15:49

99% of the subarus in Qatar have the R160 rear diff which is good up to 300hp in rwd terms.... I drove my R160 for almost 2 years in rwd setup (I was makeing around 140hp at that time, and yes I abuse it,,,, clutch kicks, burn outs, drifting,,,ect) but after that I wanted an lsd setup (mine was open diff) so I bought a used R180 diff from a JDM STi and installed it into my car..... 3 years now no problem (thu I don't drive my car much since 2009) but as far as I know the R180 can hold up to 400hp in rwd setup...

oh and I still have my front axles on :P

By supeesh• 22 Oct 2010 15:09
supeesh

em...

thats a good news...

the car is full time AWD. i think.

if we lock the differential at the center and remove the frond axle then it will become a RWD.

i just wanted to know the rear axle have enough strength.

as you know all load will be acting up on rear wheels.

if the back axle does not have enough strength then it will fail at some point.. specially when we are abusing it.

i have went through some cars which is converted to RWD and the problem they face is failure of axle. so they have to strengthen it...

if you are using for 5 years then you must be using it for normal drive.

thanks..

its just 2 rules...

1- not too loud exhaust

2- drive normally on public roads its not a race track

By anonymous• 12 Oct 2010 23:31

well if the car is Really modified they would not even allow you to register it, unless if you get a special permission from the al anabi team to make it a track car, in that case they write a remark on your registration card and in their system( NOt allowed to drive on the road ) and if you get busted, your car would rot in some dusty parking lot for a year minimum.

It is real tricky to customize.

Rule number 1 - NOT too loud! you can have a fast car that does not bother people sleeping on the 20th floor.

Rule number 2 - Do not modify if you can not get yourself out of trouble. (if you don't wear white and your plate has more than 4 digits)

Rule number 3 - If you are a tuner, you could get in trouble for modifying someone's car if they drive it on the street and not on the track

By jspec• 12 Oct 2010 23:01

One more thing.... please let me know if you find a shop that can do fender pulling as I need to do that to my car too

By jspec• 12 Oct 2010 23:00

I modify cars too

-Can Qatar road regulation allow that kind of customizing?

Yes they allow as long as its still look as an accord (no fabrecation)

- Should I report to the road police before I do the customizing and repaint?

No need to report for customizing, but YES for the repaint

- Is there any paperwork cost for reporting a customized car and repaint car to the road police?

It will be about 500 QR + or - 100 QR

- Where can I found a workshop who can do a customizing and painting in Doha?

look for that on your own, ricer :P

- I'm looking for a 19 inch or 20 inch rims with 4 nut holes (fit to many japanese sedan) or with a 5 nut holes (fit to BMW or Mercedes Benz sedan). I've went to one speedshop in Salwa road but they are refused to give me those size as they said that sizes is only for escalade. But actualy in my country, Indonesia, we usualy fit a 20 inches to Honda Jazz easily. Is there anyone can show me where to buy those rims here in Doha or any shop that can help me to import it from overseas?

There is a shop in Khretiat very near to Doha Bank

- Anyone knows where to find an adjustable coilovers that slides over your OE Struts

I have no idea about honda stuff (I only know about Toyota and Nissan and Subaru)

exactly.....

now you are getting what i really want to discus about...

i think we are on the same parallel line.....

by the way where is your shop?

i wanted to open a workshop...

may be i can join you...

or help each other...

the load, fuel, the air, its temperature, also the exhaust gas readings etc are required for ECU to understand the current situation of engine. i know that. thats what i called parameters...

engine load rpm every thing comes under that...

what we do in our country is...

we do all the mechanical side in our workshop...

like turbo, inter cooler fuel injector, fuel pump everything except the ECU thing....

as i told you we are not good in that side.

and we send the car to pete's. they used to remap the ECU for us..

i think now you got me.

i think now you understand what i am looking for...

as u know, now a days only mechanical alteration is not enough...

By anonymous• 12 Oct 2010 21:21
Rating: 3/5

no no, when you add turbos and engine rebuilds you MUST remap and custom tune! otherwise your car would easily blow up!

Only minor intake, exhaust work does not need remaps.

Anything else like, Turbos, SCs, Injectors, Pulleys, CAMS, Headers, Throttles, etc need Remapping because at every RPM vs Load your car MUST act differently that what the factory has placed.

meaning lets say you add a bigger turbo and bigger injectors.

at 5500 rpm, 90 % load the factory probably programmed your car to dump X fuel Y air and 17 degrees of timing.

With your setup all these numbers should change!

If you rebuild your engine that it can take more heat, again these numbers can change because your car can take more without breaking.

Modern Cars like BMWs and High end ones, can self adapt to the driving skills and conditions. They add, retard timing based on the way you drive. It is like iterating and self computing. This works well with Intakes and exhausts because the sensors will read different values from the incoming air, engine temp and will adapt the car to the current new conditions. This is not available in American and most Asian makes except GTRs.

Stages mean nothing, it is just a name they give based on the store... Stage 1 Brabus is different than Stage 1 Alpina etc...

Some places say adding an after market ECU ( Haltech, Motech, Mopar, Unichip ) or even an Interceptor is a stage 1. Others say stage 1 is complete engine rebuilt with forged pistons, Rods, Gasket etc..

I will invite you to my shop in a few weeks when it is done ;) it will be something very different than what you have seen ;)

By supeesh• 12 Oct 2010 20:22
supeesh

ohh you said high end cars..

that means not every car...

so when ever i go above stage 2 alteration. i have to consult you.

oh.

stage 1 means.

any modification in engine without alteration.

stage 2 means.

altering the engine.

stage 3 means.

any thing beyond stage 1 and 2.

like nitrous.

additional brayton cycle etc..

By supeesh• 12 Oct 2010 20:12
supeesh

i was talking about forced induction. where i use a belcoleman cycle to add more cool air.

you know things better. thats why i just mentioned the brief. than explaining a lot...

i know that change in timing do not require remap.

so what you are trying to say is..

the new generation cars have to ability detect the new situation and change the parameter by it self..

which means i can change things without changing the ECU or remap the ECU....

so i can add a turbo, super charger or what ever without changing ECU or remap ECU.

waw thats what i wanted...

thanks man...

i know the mechanical part.

but not good in ECU sections.

By anonymous• 12 Oct 2010 19:39
anonymous

Thanks man ;), I'll be glad to help.

Usually intakes and exhaust do not need remapping your timing variables. Adjusting timing will not in any way correct or change your air fuel mixture. When you change the Intake, the car knows automatically what cells to access based on the load, rpm and other sensor values. Adding bigger injectors however would need some tweaking.

AFR: is how much air and fuel is dumped through your valve - very Lean is not necessarily very MEAN

Timing: the time for your sparks. Enough timing to burn the mix but not much to detonate your chambers. (high rpms need special care as it could get VERY dangerous to add timing)

All EFI systems have different tables for fuel mixture control "AFR" and other tables for timing. Setting your AFR. To remap, you first adjust your Fuel depending on whether you have Naturally aspirated engine or a forced induction system. Then you play with your timing to the point where you start getting max torque - NOT max HP NOT knock minus couple of degrees like what most tuners do! ;)

Yes i do German and all European. Usually high end cars have the ability to self learn and adapt more than American cars. This is why, in most of these cars even adding a water meth pump would trick the car to adjust its own timing without the need to remap the timing..

If you need any help, please let me know.

hay come on rye....

i told. depends on the engine...

new engines have vvt or vvti what ever....

simply variable valve timing..

so those engine may not require a change. because it adjust itself..

anyway its required.

run a engine in its full rpm. (not MPFI or higher tech engine)

and see the difference with and without the exhaust.

ten you will understand....

and changing cam shaft and all....

its associated with other things. as u already told.

what i was trying to say is if you change something, you must change every thing related to it.

Thanks for info man ;) this is what I do.

You don't need to play with timing and spark advance if you replace an exhaust heheh... timing needs to be dealt with when you replace camshafts, bigger turbos, larger throttle or pulley sizes...

Exhausts and intakes are to make your car breath better and create less heat and back pressure.

and 1 inch/100 hp is enough ... hate seeing accords with massive tubes...it defeats its own purpose at this point "overhead"

By supeesh• 12 Oct 2010 18:10

hi rye...

its true there is no stage 1 2 3....

any one can do alteration and modification to any extend...

there is no limit.

back in my country, when we go for a race, they classify our cars as stage 1, 2, 3, depends on the modification done on the car. thats all....

you know, a stage 3 modified car will b more faster and powerful than stage 1..

so they are allowed to race cars in same stage...

that classification may not be there in anywhere so..

just leave that classification part...

and regarding the exhaust...

standard exhaust only met the needs.

race exhaust means a long reduce pipe with bigger diameter without sharp bends and small straight muffler.

the purpose is to reduce the back pressure of exhaust..

there are many things taken in to consideration for a race exhaust...

and if you are doing this. you must also have to do slight change in valve timing and spark depends on the engine..

By anonymous• 12 Oct 2010 02:18

also, there is NO SUCH THING AS STAGE 1,2,3, .... 76

NO specific rule or convention... shop A's stage 11 could be shop B's stage 1...

what counts is what you have under the hood and who performed the work!

By anonymous• 12 Oct 2010 02:16

why Race exhaust?!

just straight pipe it and delete the catalyst and u'll have close to 15hp especially at mid to high range with better sound.

ohh nice to see some one who is interested in modification....

i was working in a workshop where we modify care for race abuse...

i can help you for any modification you want..

i dont know about the law in qatar.

if the law allows modification then anything you ask for...

you want you car look like a highly tuned race car right...

you lowered the body and fitted bigger low profile tire.

what about a spoiler at the back?

and racing exhaust...

i dont think that you can buy it from shop..

may be i can make you a custom designed free flow exhaust...

with custom tuned firing tone...

its true that stock cars can never be as fast as a custom tuned cars........

here in qatar people only know the cars from the showroom.

never know that a stage 3 modified car will be more faster and powerful than its class...

my 4 liter pathfinder produce 290bhp and reaches the top speed of 200 km/hr in stock condition.

if its modified to stage 3 or higher, it can produce more than 400 bhp.... and will go more than 280 km/hr

if people like you shows interest in modification..

then i will be always there to help you....

i know many place where you can make things as per your need...

And magic dragon is right it will never be a corvette or a RX7.... A modif accord like the one in your pics is a trash beside a Skyline GTR or even just an R8... Best modif you could do here is RUST....

did you see any corvette in the fast and furious movie, a modified RX7 is better than 1000 corvette

you'll find a lot of shops in salwa road doing car modification and all..just a friendly suggestion,it is not worth it here to modify your car as it is just a waste of money since nobody will buy it at a higher price though it is modified..the resale value will still be less..but if you are not thinking about the money then go ahead and do it...

Why should I leave it as it is?

Driving a stock car feels like driving my Grandpa car..

At least it will look more nice as only less car modified here in Doha, like a rose in a desert..

I believe that you are not a modif lover, so that's way you give me that statement..

Why don't you leave it as it is? It will never be a Corvette anyway.
