Papers are made of trees, trees are so important for the atmosphere balance and the survival of animals and humans, the current computer possibilities help us all to write and save and organize our daily work without being in need to print even a single paper, pls, stop printing out unless it is extremly necessary.

I dont understand some funny, silly, and nasty comments, and why the hell some people keep mentioning the toilate paper, my idea is simple, there is unreasonable consumption for the paper, it could be a lot less than what it is now, in general, if one apple is enough u dont have to waste another one just for fun, if u can use the same thing twice dont use it only once, it is not a silly issue, people die every day because of the lack of resources.

Computers do not save paper, we are wasting more paper than before because of computers. How many times did you say, let's print and see how it looks? then you end up printing it 10 times.

In the era before computers, you "type" it only once, with correction ink always nearby.

Xerox, used to be the king of copy machine companies, was worried of that impression that we will go all digital, hence they were worried that their copy machines will go obselete soon, never happend.

How does a computer saves a tree?

You can substitute the toilet paper with a computer... remember to choose a smooth one.

pigs prefer to eat slop..which is a mixture of human foods...They, unlike chickens, will only eat poo when there is nothing else to eat. Chickens eat their own poo whenever they can find it, whether they have feed in their pans or not...and people say pigs are dirty..pish posh..they obviously don't know anything about chickens!!

So I have another Idea.

Why not all of us stop using toilet papers.

It would save so many trees.

Instead we can keep a pet piggy in our Toilet, which will gladly lick our tush clean. Ooohh.... so comfy!!!

You know pigs love to eat shit.

Supernurse, don't worry, I will tell you how to make paper.

Mix 12 Kgs wheat flour with milk and some honey. Keep in big A4 size basket.

Before you go to bed hang the basket to the nearest tree.

The tree should be atleast 13 yards tall.

In the morning, go and collect 5 bunch of 80 GSM A4 size paper(premium quality).

is that recycled toilet paper that stuff that is rough enough to sand down wooden doors? Surely there is a way to make it softer or ...OUCH!!!

By nadt• 26 Oct 2008 22:18

Alexa, for toilet paper its best to buy recycled toilet paper..

"Recycled toilet paper

Toilet tissue made from recycled paper is made from both colored and white stock, with staples and pins removed. The paper goes into a huge vat called a pulper that combines it with hot water and detergents to turn it into a liquid slurry. The recycled pulp then goes through a series of screens and rinses to remove paper coatings and inks. The pulp is whitened somewhat and sanitized with oxygen-based products like peroxide. It then goes through steps 7 through 10 like virgin paper products, producing a cheaper, less-white paper."

Heres the link on the article that provides more info.

http://www.enotes.com/how-products-encyclopedia/toilet-paper

Although i have yet to see recycled toilet paper in Qatar...I wonder if anyone has come across them here?

hey MJ...Good on you. I always give my kids papers ive finished with to colour in on the back instead of wasting more trees and buying those colouring books.

We cant avoid using papers but with recycling, it makes a huge difference.

By anonymous• 26 Oct 2008 22:07

yes, but one has to pay for clothes but paper is free!! I don't think theres anything we can do for the planet now, the world is ending in 2012 anyway, so I'll carry on using trees for the photocopier and putting clothes in the printer....oh hell...I'm confused....

By edifis• 26 Oct 2008 22:03
edifis

clothes are not never ending like paper! I don't buy it. I have seen so many more garment stores in Doha than stationers. So if paper is neverending so is clothes.

By mjamille28• 26 Oct 2008 21:57

hey nadt, i do that in the office all the time....not so important things that needs to be printed, i use recycled paper.... :)

Paper is paper! I don't know the exact origin of it because I am not a paper scientist by trade. The paper i've seen comes in abundance from the drawer at the bottom of the photocopier, its never ending so I would hazard a guess and say it comes from the photocopier!!

By edifis• 26 Oct 2008 21:26

Supernurse, I would like to know how in your opinion paper is made?

By nadt• 26 Oct 2008 21:26

i agree, computers have been great in reducing paper consumption, and if you must print, at least recycle the papers.

For people who need a lesson on how paper is made you can go to this site, it really isnt that hard to believe.

Paper is made of trees?!!No! paper is flat and comes in different colours.....sorry, I don't buy it. I don't see any leaves or birds nests in any paper that I've used! Unless, ofcourse, I choose to draw them......

Well u r very right dear. We r the ones who have to take care of these small issues which later on becomes bigger issues. So save PAPER and save TREES.
