QS - what I mentioned are commercial towers. Go to Musharibb Ezdan office. There are few towers being built now. they at foundation stage.

Charan its obvious....the new flats are not selling.... at the rates expected.... if its selling at all .....

This is not share market, for the rates to go up one day & come down the next. The economic purchasing power of the people has to increase at least at the same rate.

Add to it most of the Contracting firms have made huge financial commitments under which many are already suffering.....look around most of the projects are delayed.

the corniche skyline didnt move an inch up from the last 3 months atleast.....did it?

you will be able to rent a flat for QAR 5000, right now minimum is 6500 unfurnished

jackmohan2007 - don't say that. construction is our business :(

Fatcat...not exactly ....but that is what I deduce....from what I see in Doha....empty buildings.

Real estate agents cant get the prices for existing appartments and much more housing is being constructed. The only way for rent rates to go is down.

Usually Buildings have a life of 25 years. And it requires continous maintainence also. Here due to the extreme weather the buildings will require a lot of servicing from 5yrs on. There could even be cracks running across the buildings. Banks have no value for buildings above 10 yrs.

Add to it the Economic Tsunami waiting the hit the Gulf Artificial Islands currently underconstruction.

I feel a large number of locals will go under debt for investing heavily in Real Estate.

By next Dec (2009) you should get it for around QR 5,000.

But not exactly at the corniche.

What standard of accomodation can you get for such a tiny amount?

I'm guessing it will be 'basic', right?

Try Ezdan Compound in Musharrib. They directly deal with Tenents. QR 7500 a month F/F. Go to their sales & Marketing office located in the same premises.

I stayed there before.

Maybe possible....but very difficult to find.

I think there is a small two bed flat in a new bldg near my house....on the 2nd floor ....no lift..something around 5K...let me check if its still there....its only 10 mints drive from corniche.

Fatcat I dont think she is looking for a fancy brand new flat..LOL

A 2 bedroom house for less than 5000? I want one of those.

LOL, qatarisun. You are so right. Especially in an area near the corniche, where 2 bedroom flats go for over 15k a month.
