Abandoned baby found at Bird's Nest toilet
BEIJING (Reuters) - A visitor to Beijing's National "Bird's Nest" Stadium was shocked to find a new-born baby abandoned in one of the venue's toilets, local media reported on Wednesday.
The baby, later identified as a girl, was found by a woman around noon on Tuesday at the Bird's Nest, which is currently holding athletics events for the Paralympic Games, the Beijing Times said.
"The woman told venue staff that there was a newborn baby in the toilet, with blood still on its body," the paper said.
Volunteers and staff searched for the mother for two hours to no avail, then sent the baby to a hospital.
The baby was in good health and was feeding, the paper said, citing people with knowledge of the situation, but said the whereabouts of the mother remained unclear.
Authorities were investigating, the paper said.

families are only allowed to have one child so they prefer to have a boy rather than a girl and thus girl babies are being dumped or killed
I would have been surprised if it was a boy, but obviously the mother had to get rid of her in order to have a chance for giving birth to a baby boy the next time
This is how laws can force people to behave in a certain way

lol MD...but to leave her in a toilet? i hope the baby gets the best care wherever they decide to put her...
But leaving a baby like that will never be an excuse regardless of all her problems..
Who's knows Rizks, she could be a prostitute, a teenager, she could already have her one child, she could be poverty stricken or be in an abusive relationship.
If she didn't want it - why the HELL she go for it .....??

Well, it's a bird's "nest". Maybe the mother thought a "nest" would be fine.
I'm glad someone found her, hopefully she'll have a much better life now then she would of with the natural mother.
