RAMADAN Working time?

We all know that "RAMADAN" season is fast approaching and it will start on the 1st day of September. Now, I just wanted to ask if there is any memorandum or public announcement that Qatar Labor Dept. has issued for the work timing during the RAMADAN season? All I know every Ramadan season, there is only a six (6)hours (maximum, beyond that is automatic overtime) working hour. But it seems there is still a lot of companies here in Qatar taking advantage and they forcing their people to work as in usual working schedule (8 hours or more / day)...if there is any memorandum or announcement you have read from the newspaper or in any circulation, kindly give me a copy so that i could let this to see by our company/management and bring to their knowledge that they are violating the Qatar labor law.

thanks.

Regulation of the Working Hours and Leave

Article 73

The maximum ordinary working hours shall be Forty Eight hours per week at the rate

of eight hours per day with the exception of the month of Ramadan when the

maximum working hours shall be thirty six hours per month at the rate of six hours

per day.

This law is applicable to all employees irrespective or religion. Even though the law is there, many companies are not following it..including the company where i'm working......

If you look on the peninsula website, there is the latest copy of the labour law it is included in there.

Everything you have indicated is correct, however you will find that most Qatari's will only be working 5 hours flexi time, so as to meet their needs whilst fasting.
