Let's stop blaming Qtel and Thank Qtel
The following sites are not accessible and are being complained by people that it is the work of Qtel.

The truth is it's not because of Qtel, If Qtel wants to block any page, it would have their WEBPAGE BLOCKED page put up.
The following sites are owned by One single Company and its the company's fault. The company is blocking the Qatar Ip Addresses.
An email was sent to this company and its almost three weeks by now and there has been no response.
While Qtel responded effectively on one single call.
Most of them are not satisfied with Qtel and always complain, but lets thank for whatever they provide without which we wont be able to use Qatar Living.

For the ones who use voip, u can move on to other VoIP service providers such as Skype, Familyvoiz and there are plenty of them and its LEGAL to use for private use.
qtel can go 2hell
All the while, promising the VERY best internet packages and service, whilst in reality,they are both very poor by other provider standards.Stll creaming in massive profits every year though....

It's betamax, only their sip and websites doesn't work in Qatar as they block Qatar's Ip Addresses.
looking forward to Vodafone, but it will take long time for them to establish internet, mobile and landline..it will come step by step.
If there was no Q-Tel there would just be some other monopoly phone service. So why thank them for anything?

Yes i use the sip protocol of a US based service provider it works find on my mobile with fring. i use my mobile with sip connecting through WLAN to make calls.. its clear and gives mobility.
lets see and hope things change with Vodafone entry. atleast we have a choice to choose. and its always competition brings innovation at lower cost. :)
why doubt Qtel like this?..its actually funny a Country's operator can cheat their customers like this.
what is ICtQatar there for?
Qtel is supervised by IctQatar and if they do anything wrong, they cant simply get away with it.
If its Qtel doing this, u can sue them...do u understand?
but no one has so far done...so figure it out!

Listen, Qtel has a line from another company just like we do and a person from Qtel itself said , they cant access.
Strong Proof:
Betamax has SIP protocol, it used to work before 1 month, now it doesnt work.
Try VOIPGATE, they got absoluetly same rates as justvoip, try their SIP protocol, it works fine.
Its not Qtel , its Betamax.

I strongly disagree with Muhammed12. i wouldnt blame him personally but his ignorance. as rightly pointed out by muhammed all these voip service are by single german company called Betamax. but this is being blocked by qtel quitely by not displaying the page its blocked. when we use a proxy we are able to access these sites, so its qtel who are for sure blocking them. and theother voip you are talking about like skype costs five times and close to the qtel charge.
Moreover we cannot expect a reply from these voip provider as they dont seem to be professional as put up in many forums we could read. so there service is cheap in cost and so as professionaly.
anyways, I am not here to advocate or to defend, but to register my disagreement. thats it. cool.
I totally agree with u . I didn't say Qtel is the best and the most advanced Telecom operator.
My thread was more focused on the sites that was blocked because the truth is its not the work of Qtel and many people r simply blaming Qtel for not able to access which is false. So i wanted them to stop this particular blame.

Muhammad12 like what? hala card that expires or 50 dirham they charge for transfering credit??? or the stupid upload speed which blocks us from playing online games? look at other countries and how advanced they are in telecom and compare the rates of how much they are charging here for a dsl connection.
If there was no qtel, there would've been something better for sure.

I did not say Qtel is the best...I know its services are not up to date. Back in ur own country, u got 8Mbps internet speed. I agree with u , but we should be thankful to whatever we get from them.

may be go for satellite internet...but not all can go for it.

I recently came back from the UK where you could pay the equivalent of QR 70 for a top up on your pre paid GSM line and get 300 free text messages for that month.
Q-Tel seriously needs some competition in order to give customers better deals.
