Who wants a beautiful cat?

By sheranna

Hello,
My children have found a very beautiful cat. Seems to be persian mix. Very beautiful, light peach color adult female (obviously fixed, so don't worry about kitttens). She was either abandoned or most likely lost.Very obedient, patient (my children play with her like with toy and she doesn't mind. She's never scrached anyone. She follow the rules always. I only shew her two times that I didn't want her on a sofa, and she never tried to get on it again. Actually she is a dream of any cat-lover) We would love to keep her, but I have allergy to cats fur. This cat turned my life into hell, I have to wash floor two times a day to keep her fur away. I cannot brush her, or wash her, we cannot take her in the car. She needs better care than I can provide only feeding her and letting children do whatever they want with her. Anyone who would like to take her, please let me know. I know my children will cry, but I will be happy to give her away. I pitty her, but I pitty myself too. :-(

but since I'm still in the middle of sorting my visa transfer requirements, I'm still not able to have a pet right now.

And now that I've sub-let half of my room, I have to ask first if my room mate won't mind a furry room mate. :-)

I'm not sure if this cat is still available as it was posted more then 2 months ago. If you're looking for a cat and Sheranna's has already been rehomed, why not visit QAWS - they have around 20 cats and kittens looking for new homes.

Google "soft paws" and check out the product. I'm not affiliated in any way, but I did use them on my cats. Once you get the hang of putting them on properly they work quite well. They can be used several times, too. . .you'll find them around the house (provided you get a fun, colored set rather than clear) and just glue them back on, provided that not too much of the nail sheath (the part that they naturally shed) comes off with it.

OH - and did I mention that the cats cry during the surgery? The anesthesia knocks them out but doesn't totally deaden the sensation - it truly is awful. I'm so glad the UK outlawed declawing, docking (of tails) and cropping (of ears); the latter two are equally horrid surgeries.

Well my cat used to run after declawing. I am not supporting declawing but probably you may be right. The doctor took my cat in surgery and anestheisthetic was injected and he took a little time to declaw it.

Anyways i think that there may be a better substitute to declawing that does not put the animal in much pain, but cat used to scratching a carpet never gives up this habit untill you find a solution to it.

Having worked as a veterinary technician, I can assure you that declawing a cat is a horrible surgery.

Have you seen the nail cutters that are used for dogs nails - the ones that look like a hand-held guillotine? The cat's paw is gently "squished open" by hand (like you would to see the cat's claws) and then the nail cutters literally decapitates the last bony digit of the toe.

Look down at your foot and you'll see the last bony joint of your toe - the one that your toenail is attached to. THAT is what is cut off. Now imagine how painful it would be. . .and imagine trying to walk/run after having that joint amputated. . .or trying to escape from a predator with the now-mutilated feet.

boooooo to declawing :o(

Sheranna. If the above takers fall through. Let me know and I will take the cat. Just request to have me on your buddy system via email and I will respond as I don't log into QL all the time.

adnanmzfr - yes, no change in its habits apart from the fact it couldn't defend itself against the wild cat. Nice one.

When i got the the claws of my (male) cat out, one day it went out side the house , a female wild cat with some kittens beat it a lot with it's claws, i saved its life in time.

Well my cat did not feel much after getting its claws out, no change in its habits were noticed. It contined its efforts to try to scrach the carpet but even its best try it was unable to do so :-).

labda, I got my first cat from the SPCA. She was alone at home for about 1 year until I got my second cat. She didn't seem to "suffer" whilst being alone, though I wasn't there to verify! :)

I then got my second cat, a male kitten. At first she hated him, hissing and spitting all the time. But then she sort of took the "mommy" role and adopted him about 10 days later or so. Nowadays they're the best of buddies.

Cats sleep for most of the day anyway. I can see that when I'm home over the weekend.

I do think it's better to have two because they keep company to each other. But I don't think it's cruel to have only one. If you're thinking of getting only one I'd recommend getting a females first as they are easier to adapt to other cats.

And, no matter how many you get, you MUST castrate them! :)

Now, to get a cat or a kitten... It totally depends on you. My first one was already 7 months old when I got her. My second one was tiny, about 3 or 4 months. Kittens are a lot more work than grown cats because they want to play and play and play. But that can also be a blessing, because there's nothing cuter in the world than a playful kitten :)

get two kitties and they can play together and keep each other company during the day. Seriously...having two is no more work than having one...and cats are very good at entertaining themselves.

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Fatcat are your cats here? I wanted to get one but I thought it would be cruel to leave it home alone while Im at work. :( I really want a puss puss though. Oh well I'll just have to make do with your avatar for now.

Yes cats are not primates that much is obvious but its still cruel to rip out their nails!

Cat claws are differnt than the nails of the primates.

I think if you declaw a cat you are are an animal abuser!! Get a scratching post but declawing an animal is animal cruelty. How would you like it if someone took you to the doctor and ripped off all your nails and toe nails!! You wouldn't like so hence why you doing it to some poor defenseless animal!!!

By tallg• 31 Aug 2008 09:21

Not all cats claw furniture, and if a cat is introduced to a scratching post early on it will prevent problems later. De-clawing is considered cruel by many, and is illegal in some countries. You certainly shouldn't just de-claw all cats for the sake of it.

adnanmzfr, not all cats ruin couches/carpets. I have two of them, they have all their claws and they do not scratch any of my furniture. It's quite easy, I just ensure they always have a scratch post. Personally, I think it's quite cruel to de-claw a cat. It would be similar as removing all your nails.

Cat can ruin the sofa by its claws, you have get its claws out firstly :-) .

I used to have a single seimi (dont know if i spelled it right) cat but it needed lot of care and time that one cannot give if one is in the office during the day. I got it vaccinated then got its claws out as well other wise its very distructive to the carpet.

I found a beautiful white shorthaired cat with black tail and ears on a construction site. She is very affectionate and I believe she was dumped. She was found in the Al Waab area. She is free to a good home as her parents don't want her. Please call Nicola @6891459 if you can give her a good home.

If no one else will take the cat before you.

I wish to take her to vet, but cannot have her in car. I tried once and had to return before we arrived anywhere, because I simply couldn't drive from sneezing.

I wish she was that local type, who actually enjoys being outdoors. This cat is ment to stay at home. She hates when I make her go outside. but I have to do so often to take a breath.

My cruel husband offer to take her somewhere to the sea shore and leave her there. Honestly I preffer to suffer from allergy then from bad feeling afterwards.

better late then never

Have you taken her to the vet? She might be microchipped and her owner details might be there.
