My friend is coming over in Ramadan to stay with me. I needed to apply for a tourist visa for him. The point is, he will be staying with me at my house, so do I need a hotel reservation to apply for a visa. Couldn't he just have some cash with him at the airport or something so he can enter the country?

If he is US citizen. No prob.He can obtain visa on arrival. Only credit card accepted. No need hotel reservation.

go to immigration department at the airport apply for his visa as tourist you will be the sponsor. its good for 28 days only and it cost qr.100 (visa fee) thats the easiest way

You can buy a i think its a 3 week visa at the airport, but i think you need a credit card for that. Anything over three weeks you will need to apply for one. Its best to ring and check for the exact details..
