i know Limra, it's all the same, thats what i'm saying!!!

for me it can only be better when i have more time for my self to enjoy and sleep and try to save money.

i was all over the Gulf, it's all the same except for Oman and some places in saudi arabia.

the most i enjoyed was Bahrain.

take it easy...

I have read your post and also your profile mindcrime. It seems funny to me how you can compare Dubai to Doha when you will be arriving Doha only in September. The grass is always greener on the other side. Taking into consideration all the negative points mentioned by you (most of which are same as in Doha) I still feel Dubai is many times better than Doha. I think you should wait till September or October to make your comments on this issue.

you want to spend half of your day stuck in traffic?

send your car to service on monthly basis?

pay so much for rent if you find,,and save zero?

spend all your money on false images just to keep up?

to experience horrific car crashes on daily bases and risk your life or you family's?

zero rights when it comes to labor laws?

being somebodies bitch all day?

never let you in any nightclubs and always the same reasons, either couples only or Crew party!!!

the hottest city in the world with 2% humidity..

then choose Dubai and welcome to HELL REHARSEL!!!

GOOD NIGHT & GOOD LUCK!

you guys talk about Dubai as it has rivers, mountains and 4 seasons.

last week the temp reached 52!!!!!

i really dont think Mall and high towers should be the points to compare the 2 cities.

Well, all i can do is give you an example. When you compare Dubai to Doha its like comparing Mumbai to Kolhapur or Satara.

I feel Doha is nothing compared to Dubai. It will take at least 20 years for Doha to develop like Dubai. I have lived in UAE for years and feel Doha is a boring place. One of the reasons is lack of proper transportation. Though the petrol price is cheaper compared to Dubai, the taxi fare is much higher. I have read posts saying you have to enjoy life here yes you can do that if you have your own transportation and earning a salary of QAR 20,000 or above per month. I don't think an average person earns that much. I dread the thought of going out when I compare the taxi fare to that of UAE. People are attracted by the high salary offered in Qatar. But sorry to say it is nothing compared to the high cost of living here especially the transportation charges etc.

It is bit expensive but much better place to live-in. Dubai is just artificial. I have lived there, it is not as big as it is made out to be. Compared to other world class cities Dubai is just nothing. As for Doha, it does not boast like Dubai but it is a real small town, very peaceful with very good people, excellent for families.

I lived for 3 years in Dubai and now been in Doha for 2 years. You can only compare the two if your priorities are set and if your objectives are clear. To save money and have a more peaceful life Doha is your best bet. If you settle down and do not wanna spend 16 hours of your day outside (4 of which are in Dubai-Sharja traffic) the Doha is the best deal of the two.

I can't make the comparisment.... But I can tell you this;

Doha is Great !!! A really nice place and Qatar is a really nice country. But it all depends on yourself and what you make of your life here in Doha/Qatar.

I think the subject should not be Dubai vs Doha since this is not a match neither the two places are not against each other.

Anyway, Dubai is too crowded traffic jam even midnight as compared to Doha gimmick wise yes Dubai got plenty so you will be tempted to spend more in Dubai.

DON'T.

As to the analogy to a village. I agree 100%.

You are migrating from a metropolitan city to a village. that is the comparison. But compared to Dubai, Doha is quite OK with regards to stay calm. If you are fun loving person with lot of energy to go out everyday after working hours, Doha may not be your dream place.

For a go-getter who loves peace, calm and quietness, Doha is OK.
