Zpeedbird, online shopping is only the easiest and convenient way to get what you want (gadgets) where local supplier do not have. I do it for my car and kind of bulky items but it's cheap considering the enjoyment when you have it. I never done ordering electronic parts online but I can assure you, it's possible. The good thing of online shopping is you can choose the best quality and the best price. So I would suggest that you go on and open an account with ARAMEX and happy shopping. I can recommend also eBay and Amazon online shopping site since you are going to use your credit cards, these sites are safe when it comes to security.

So have you guys with the higher end components bought the stuff locally or online from overseas?

Went to Sofitel/Mercure area a few days ago and visited a few stores but wasn't really impressed. I would like to build my own rig but it seems like a hazzle to order from eg. USA so if a good local store can be recommended I would appreciate it.

Have read about setting up a Aramax account. Is that the best way to go about it?

I have a commodore64, 0.985MHz CPU, originally 64kb ram.

Expanded ram to 128k by soldering the ram chips directly to the motherboard.

All software is run from cassette tapes, they are very practical as you can easily copy them on a dual-deck stereo.

I use it on my 52" LCD on UHF channel 36 (QTV ch37 should change their frequency, sometimes I can't see my C64's image).

What's a floppy?

By newkidontheblock• 4 Jan 2009 09:19

Whoa! 8" floppy drive huh? in 1993 or earlier, during my college years, it was only 5 1/2" HD/DD Floppy Diskette. in 1994, Micro Floppy 3.5" HD/DD came out in the market. I even witnessed, the monochrome green screen and PC XT and 286 computers.

If you said 8" floppy drive and if that is real, you must be a cave man pre-historic human being. cool!

OK, buy a case locally. You will leave it open anyway. You can also get some 1000 Watt Power Supplies here. But for the rest, online.

PSU and case for example are heavy components. How much will aramex charge for those? (lol)

Maybe it would be better to buy common parts here, and mobo,CPU,GPU online...?

My only advice: buy online!!

LG M1 dual express

Dual Core 1.83Ghz

Geforce Go 7400 512 Mb overclocked from 450 to 540 mhz (yes it's possible!)

external monitor:Samsung Syncmaster 226bw 22"

I'm planning to build my own gaming rig,but I have to know which components I can purchase locally, and which ones I'd better to buy online( Amazon,Newegg,...)

My core dream config:

Mobo: nforce 780i for future SLI

CPU: Q6600 (for a potential OC)

GPU:High end Nvidia (maybe gtx260/280 will be soon more affordable?)

A convenient PSU for such a config...

What about the case?

mr_listener kindly refered to the Gigabyte solution (Tornado computers in Sofitel area)but it looks like the price can go pretty high.

I searched for other brands, sadly no official resellers here in Doha for MSI,XFX,EVGA,Asus,...

So I need QLers advice on this.

Thanks.

Excellent Configuration. No branded Computer comes with Quad Processors.I think Ur Pc is 5 times better than DELL so called XPS gaming machines. I guess ur a Graphic Designer. Ur processor alone is worth around 4000 Riyals :)
