I've been here for almost a year and have seen the mainstream dinner places.
Are there any places out of the mainstream that are worth taking your girl to? Any suggestions are welcome...maybe even the popular places that I might have missed!
ROYAL TANDOOR is great. It is located on AL SADD ST.
Coming from C-RING you will turn left ONTO AL SADD ST.
Continue Straight for about 1km.
Turn Rt. at the corner just past the RED LIGHT and before the AUTOMATIC RESTAURANT.
Royal Tandoor doesn't face al sadd street but you will see it once you exit...It is two blocks south of Marmara Istanbul (ANOTHER GOOD PLACE BUT NOT GOOD FOR A DATE...UNLESS SHE'S DRUNK)
I like to eat in the souq sometimes, sitting outside in the evening is really good, especially on the 1st floor looking over the streets, of course you should of tried this by now if you've been here a year.
"surprises" makes one lady go crazy!..a plan that she is not aware that u prepare smething special for u both but of course most especially for her..all i suggest is, make a reservation for 2 in a fine dine-in resto..(Al Shaheen Resto on top of Sheraton Hotel) would be very lovely for u both!..make it sure that she doesn't have any idea at all when u make this things...i guaranteed u that she will love u in return!...cheers! nd good luck! =) ooops, bring a bouquet of flowers with u when u fetch her up before going to Al Shaheen!..
only i am not quite sure of they are entertaining walk-in guest....but it is really a nice place and sure that your fiancee will fall in love with you...

The best experience is when i took my partner on a hollywood restaurant, it was the best dinner we had. Very romantic.
Forgiveness is life...:)
Seriously!
The restaurant was closed twice by health inspector.
The décor is worn-out, and you get the worst Lebanese cuisine ever.
I recommend Le central at La Cigal. Ask for a table with a view & enjoy the best California rolls in town
Th Royal Tandoor has my vote, great Romantic Atmosphere with dim lighting...perfect.

Thanks for the replies, guys and gals!
Can someone please advise where the following are:
Al Majlis in Al Sadd
Royal Tandoor?
I don't know the ins and outs of the entire city!
Thanks.
I agree that Royal Tandoor is amazing...but I'd also try the Iraqi restaurant in the Souq.
Happy hunting

"one day we will meet again as time will never defy our togetherness and will never be apart again...."

ROBIN!!! To The Batcave!!!
Once a friend asked me the same question and i told him to invite her GF for home cooked sea food. He liked the idea.
Next day i asked him how did the date go, he said not very well.
What happened?
"She liked my place but she refused to cook."
Try Al Majlis in Al Sadd. Nice, quiet place (you can get a booth, which could be romantic).
try ROYAL TANDOOR..i love it
CHINGARI in ramada is also nice too..
