pinoy_ako08, I've been searching of a way too on how to go to Qatar with a tourist visa. But until now, I don't have any luck. I tried travel agencies, and I called hotels, but to no avail. The latest advice that I received is that I can have it through Qatar Airways. But a hotel booking is needed. Someone told me that when I apply for tourist visa at Qatar Airways office, automatically, the hotel reservation will be included in the visa payment because QR itself has designated hotels where the visa applicant would stay. I haven't called to QR office yet but if you wanna give it a try, here is the number: 449-6980, 449-6973. In case you get a positive response, please inform me too. Thanks!
hey goodgirl! had applied a visit visa before. i looked in the website of moi and states: "Applications for tourist visas are submitted to the Immigration Department (Airport Visas Section) by one of the registered hotels. Visas are usually given within 24 hours and are valid for 14 days. They can be extended for another 14 days".
But hotels want a written invitation from a company in Qatar if you don't have a relative. That's what La Villa Palace Hotel told me when I tried to apply for a tourist visa through them. I really cannot understand what is the true process.I mean if the hotel is the sponsor, why would they still ask for a relative or a letter of invitation? I don't get it.
