Is legal to pay person you had accident with?
One night while droving at night we had an accident in the middle of R/A due to the dark area, we never saw one saloon car coming in...The damage with our car is slight and as well as the other car we bump in. Apparently, those guys wanted to pay them QAR. 500 & forget about going to the police for report.
Our decision is to go police station the next day, however, the other party doesnt cooperate with us not even answer our phone call. Still, we proceed at station. But some say, report is useless coz we have only a third party insurance..So what we will do then? pls advice folks??? I really appreciated your comments pls
The police report is ok if you gonna have your car fixed by the dealer's garage.
But since you mentioned that your insurance is only TPL (third party liability), your car is 2nd hand just like my former vehicle.
Anyway, the guy wanted to fleece you with money coz the repair won't even cozt him more than QAR 150 in any garage in the industrial area.

Only the plate number of our car fell apart from left side a small scratch while, the other is slight bump/scratch and his asking for QAR.500 for fine!!
Unfortunately, we agreed to meet at the police station so we dont bother at his plate#. We went this morning at station and the 2nd party didnt showed up!!

Anyway, thanks for advice coz i did the same thing although we dont have much damage in the car & no need to bring to the garage for fixing of anything.
I had an "accident" with a woman a few years back and I am still paying for the upkeep of the child...

Don’t ever pay money because you will not find any car workshop to fix your car without police paper. Give car plate number to the police and they will bring him in 1 hour and remember that if you have an accident go to the right side and Waite the police or go direct to nearest police office.
Just go to police put up a complaint and get the police paper for ur vehicle and if u know the vehicle plate no. and the other guys mobile no. give the same to police and then they will take care.
U just get ur paper for getting the vehicle repaired as if there is a police checking in the road and if u don't have the papers for the damage on ur vehicle then u will be fine d.
