Salary Transfer

Anybody know if I transfer my salary to another bank and i leave my deposits in my bank will they force me to close it? or can I still use my bank for savings purposes? Assuming that I have issued checks will they honor my check even if I have transfer my salary to another bank(of course it has funds).
