It covers all the body but is skin tight.

The idea of a Burka is to hide the shape and contours of the body to stop leering and sexual thoughts is it not ....

LOL Gypo - a certain someone used to prance around in his speedos...looked like a 70s porn star and proud of it.

I used to question it!

LOL

Let me clarify here.. I prefer someone who looks good even if his speedos are two sizes too small than some mutt with a gut. Personally I prefer loose baggy knee length shorts as male swim wear.

to make something (such as an abstract idea) possible to be perceived by the senses.

to treat as something objectively real.

to treat as a mere object and deny the dignity of.

Hmmm... so which category does the author put women into?

By Gypsy• 5 Jun 2008 12:08
Gypsy

I completely agree with Tweety. Now that I've stopped simply fuming over what this pig wrote, I think I can actually say something intellectual, and that's that articles like this, and this mindset, of pitting Western and Arab women against each other is dangerous, demeaning and turns women into nothing more then possession. Asking if a women is owned or not owned?? It takes away our status as fellow human beings and turns us into an object. Nobody is out there questioning whether men should wear Speedos (NO!!!) or whether men are owned by their families, etc. No one would ever suggest that a man's body should only be seen by his family, or that he is less of a man for wearing a bathing suit or for having premarital sex.

Articles like this just further prove that feminism still has a long long way to go. :(

The guy who wrote that needs to get out a little more - don't you think? Spend some time away from his computer and the Baywatch posters on his bedroom wall.

In the real world Arab woman have more value than this artilce gives them credit for. I see it everyday where I work.

In the real world American woman have more value than this article gives them credit for and I am living proof of that.

Woman the world over have more value than that article gives them credit for. Look around you - "we really can bring home the bacon and fry it up in the pan."

Why you are fighting to each other?

Well if leads to respect our women. Evey human have a women for a respectable relation, either she is mother, wife, daughter or sister, every women give something to us which makes the nation. The burkhs is a respectable dress but but but the values of should be same in the eyes of the women who is wearing the burkha.

Yes its good, that only her family and husband can see her. why should we see every one? her boydy, her curves, even thoug we can judge her size and different angles when those woemn wear tight clots, isnt it bad? if they hide their curve from the men, she should be looked more respectable.

think think and re think who are disagree with this. but please dont take it personal.

Ok. Where in the text is anything 'proven scientifically'?

Anyone with half a brain knows the view presented by this article is not only a lie, but a dangerous, slanderous, intellectually lax, totally unsupportable, and mind-bogglingly stupid lie. Although it's hilarious.

Sadly, it confirms what I have been suspecting: that men from other cultures will never, ever truly understand the so-called 'Western' cultures, and don't even want to try.

I can't help wondering what exactly is so threatening about a woman being a fully-fledged, multi-faceted, real person, rather than be seen as a mere representative of a rigid ideal?

It is time to accept that no two men or women are exactly the same, and this human variety is what keeps our species going.

Blind obsession with physical attributes is not the answer, but then we know this; the truth is most women of the 'West' would not recognize themselves or their society from this article.

Dealing with this kind of a*****e attitudes sadly seems to be part of the deal of living in the Middle East...

Its not a question of reincarnation but during your life you can convert to hinduism....Right??

Some people find a jail attractive when they are spoonfed with all the benefits and others find freedom attractive but when either end up getting screwed they will willingly support the Hindus........

All elements of brainwashing when some dont find an oppurtunity they convert to Islam while some find lack of freedom they convert to christianity......

Indians are best at this....

On the one hand american values are undoubtedly killing the academic performance of many while on the other extreme Muslim women are totally restrained.....

THe answer lies in how one practices hinduism............

This extract I find extremely debatable thinking on the focus of Asians Arabs where marriage is mostly about money on both sides. On the on side the boys are buying the bride on the other hand the bride is buying the groom. I do wonder !!!!!

"The Muslim woman's focus is her home, the "nest" where her children are born and reared. She is the "home" maker, the taproot that sustains the spiritual life of the family, nurturing and training her children, providing refuge and support to her husband".

Where is the reality about wife battering and rape and murder seems to me a false [picture!!!!
