Have you seen dolphins playing in the gulf?
I was blessed this morning by watching this amazing view.
It was about 03:30AM when I had to move from one platform to another by boat, and just before 05:00AM while I'm on the boat, with the amazing sunrise lighting up the gulf, the dolphins started to play next to our boat, and jumping high in the air, going away, and come back again, giving me an amazing company among the slow waves.
Guys, it was amazing show, so friendly dolphins, playing with us, may be teasing us :).
I just wish everyone have the chance to see such a beautiful thing.
P.S. I've seen dolphins many times playing and making games in aquarium pools, with trained dolphins, but this was the second time I see it naturally, the first one was in the Pacific Ocean,BC, Canada.

Dolphins tend to be so friendly to human, and they can feel if you are at risk in the water, they will help you for sure.
There is a very well known story happened in another oilfield platform, very close to mine, when one of the staff, fell down to the sea because of the strong wind, and he was missing for two days, until the Dolphins guided one of the boat captains to him, and they found him surrounded by dolphins to protect him from sharks.

until about 14 years ago, the dolphins and their babies used to be swimming between Safliya and the Sheraton. So if you had a boat, and went out early morning, you could switch off the engine, float around for a wee while, and they'd come up right close to the boat and swim. Which is pretty amazing if your boat is only 13 foot long! We'd jump out and swim out there, but they never came too close unfortunately.
Another time a friend and I went deep fishing just past Banana island, and we found a pod of about 30 dolphins, the see was black with them, they swam about 6 foot in front of the boat... and again I got into the water (boat stopped by now)...and swam, but again they didn't come close to me unfortunately, but it was great to be among them. Can you believe, no photographs !!

you have to be early to see dolphins in al ghariya resort, I've seen few when we use to go fishing there, but i think it wasn't the common dolphin(correct me if i'm wrong), it looks bigger than the bottlenose dolphin. But it was a great experience seeing those wonderful creature. I'm not sure if you'll see them this hot season.

Believe me man, I see sharks everyday, but it runs away whenever the dolphins arrive.
But small sharks though, less than 2 meters long, :)

I remember my experienced when we went dolphin-watching trip in Oman, it was amazing seeing them jumping and moving in group. I even took some great photos of them.
