Late Night Building Works

What the heck is that about?

I'm staying in an apartment in the Al Asmakh area and there is a building going up 2 metres away. Last night they poured another floor slab, which is a really quite noisy operation. Before that they had banging and sawing. It went on until 5am and I hardly got any sleep. How and why is this allowed in residential areas? It's ridiculous!

To built a 40 storey appt within 18 months, construction has to goes on 24/7...and due to hot temperature---concreting is being poured at night--which gives strength---have to bear this for a while---

I figured it was down to the heat thing. Traffic shouldn't be an issue as its a side street with plenty of other routes available, and they had a mobile crane lifting some reinforcement cages this morning when I left. At least I got some sleep last night, AND I went and got some ear plugs last night.

They work at night because of 2 reasons. One is the concrete cracking bit. But the other is that trucks are not allowed to be on the streets when most of us are on their way to work (restricted driving timings). Can you imagine having all these trucks on top of the regular morning traffic. We would never get to work on time. Suggestion, buy some good ear plugs.

as you are aware doha is booming and too much construction is rising so expect some noisy things outside. T coffee is right that concrete works are done mostly on evening where the sun is hiding not to create cracks due to heat...

Sorry for the inconvenience...
