Your home's burning-what do u grab first?

A while back a friend was visiting Doha & our fire alarm in the appartments went off. It was 5am. I stumbled over to the window and looked outside...I saw fog everywhere and thought the appartments were burning down.

We ran down 6 flights of stairs only to discover someone had accidently set the alarm off.

It was interesting though, because i got to experience what I would do in the case of a fire...and what I would take with me.

:) I grabbed my passport, macbook & friend, then bolted.

What would you take, assuming you are the only person home?

it happened to me in another way, it was an earthquake in egypt, we were visiting one of our friends lives at the 11th floor, then it started,

so we took his mom and some things fast and headed to the stairs, while he told us that he will be down in a min, anyway, we almost reached the ground floor when his mom told me to check on him, believe it or not, when i get back to him, he was making tea, listening to music (slayer), prepareing a big bag, i couldn't stop laughing afterwords.

same sort of situation happened to me. I lived in a high rise tower on the top floor and the fire alarm went off. I thought at first it was just a false alarm as that has happened before, but when I heard the fire engines coming I panicked.

I grabbed my three cats,(they were scared and hiding under the bed which I threw over) put them in the carriers, took my purse and ran down way too many flights of stairs.

Luckily it was a small kitchen fire (on my floor!!) and everyone was ok.

So, as long as I had my cats, the rest are just belongings.
