Carrefour vs sattelite food stores

I guess it's time to start giving back after the help from you all so far.

After several food shopping experiences (all good) the prices for items such as fruit and vegetable and general food products seems to be 20% or more cheaper at Carrefour (no I'm Not a sales rep).

The only issue is the time taken to get to city centre compared to your local food market.

My theory is based on the fact that Carrefour sell a wide range of items other than food products and therefore use the lower food prices to get you to their store. You just need to be disciplined not to go crazy on other items.

Let me know if you think differently

Cheers Ben

I'll keep searching and try to provide figures in the future.

I'm a factual person so broad statements like the one above should of been substantiated.

However it was just a general impression to date

...but quite confronting for westerners (sorry...).  I've been there many times, and been the only non-Indian in the place.  My blonde wife and kids won't go there as they get stared at too much.

Let me be clear, this is NOT a criticism of ANYBODY, just a statement of fact.

You must be comparing to Megamart?  Mrs Grantley reckons Family Food on Rayyan Rd is waaay cheaper than C'four, albeit with a slightly smaller range.  al Meera (in Dafna anyway) is probably in between.
