Reducing use of plastic bags

How many of you use the sturdy shopping bags from Carrefour as opposed to plastic carrier bags?

It seems most people can't be bothered here and continue to use plastic bags.Perhaps the supermarkets should give incentives to customers to reduce the use of plastic bags. Discounts on shopping bills or customer loyalty cards with points would be a good idea.

but 9 times out of 10  I forget to take them when I go for groceries.   I want to help the environment, I really do,  I just forget.   Anybody have a good way of remembering to take them?

For me,...plastic more frindly compare to papers.

Did you now 1 ton of woods will the same like 250kg paper?

Plastic bags is polymer that can be RECYCLE become same product up to 5 times. And some plastic bags additive, now can be degradable (Mulsc polymers).

Thanks

It's sad, especially when you see the desert and beaches littered with plastic bags.

The local 'dukans' are probably the worst offenders ,you get a bag even if you only buy a can of pepsi.

Back in South Africa the food shops are not allowed to give shopping bags for free, they must charge the customer for each shopping bag. After the goverment imposed this, the shops started making the bags a lot better so they could be reused. I think it's great cos people do use a lot less bags now that they have to pay for them.
