Hi,

My parents are travelling from India to visit me on a visit visa. Can someone please tell me what is the maximum amount of allowable  money (in QR) they can carry with them from India.

Thanks

If there was any bad language in my post then I would have been warned by the moderator. Where's your sense of humour? Then again, I suppose that with English being my native tongue, perhaps dry wit may elude those who merely massacre the language, as opposed to understanding nuance and inflection. I hope you're going to be in a better mood when mummy and daddy turn up with a sackful of rupees.

Seems you have sold your property back in India and want your share in Cash. Anyways, If they have the confirmed tick, they just need to have some 1-2K QAR just for emergency otherwise they can travel penny less also.

That way, they won't be mooching off you for their holiday spending money ....... unless you want to protect your inheritance, in which case tell them to bring no money at all then drop them off at the Indian embassy every morning to be fed and looked after while you do important things like shopping or sitting at Coffee Beanery

no need for show money...as long as you support them while here.

guess if the value equivalent to $5000 or less, itssallowed to carry as cash....else you have to convert to travellers cheque...

I am not 100% sure...pls recheck...

as far as my knowledge goes, theres no problem carrying foreign currency out of India but there is a limitation of the Indian Ruppees that they carry out of India.i usually keep a mix of qrs and dollars, just enough to buy a one way ticket back or at least manage for any unforseen expenses that may arise plus few change in ruppees.

You could call the Indian Embassy and check too.

happy heart DRIVE SAFE,someone is waiting for you at home
