Unpaid Over Time Work Rendered

I have been working for more than 1 yr (13 months) in this company and I dont receive any OT pay.

On my 6th month I asked my manager about it and he said "you signed another contract here in Qatar, saying you will work for 9.5 hours per day"

So didnt argue with him at that time. I just thought, anyway I have my contract, the one which I got from my agency in my country.

Then I went to our embassy and I was advised to secure all documents as proof of my claim. And I was told that I can make a claim whenever Im ready. And my company should pay me back.

I just want to ask anybody out there, I you have heard such case before and if you know what happened to the case. Was the worker given his claim?

Shall I go to the Qatar Labor office directly or shall I go back to our embassy first?

I have called both offices and both of them says, I have to go and visit them. I am inclined to go to the Qatar Labor office in Industrial St No. 13 directly.

Law experts, anybody who has the same experience or has heard of such case, please advise.

Thank you.

as far as i know, once you sign the contract you have to follow and obey the contract. so if the contract said you should work min. 9.5 hours and then you should work that long hours. unless your contract say some else..

Everybody is right Everybody is wrong, it depend where we stand.
