What to do? (small individual car accident)

Situation:
Yesterday I parked a borrowed (not rental) car at a parking spot and drove backwards, very slowly, to a street lantern.
Unfortunately, I made a small damage on the back of my car and saw that the 'small door' of the street latern was a bit open. When I took a good look, I saw it was already open and bit scratched by other car accidents before (really).
The latern was still working and I closed the 'door' with some hits from a tool for 95%, and drove away after 15 minutes. Many people saw me this doing.
My question:
When I came home , my sudden thoughts were: Was this OK? What to do? Public property with small damage is also involved! Do i have to make up (or: did I had to make immediate) a report by the police about this?
Was it wrong to drive away without noticing this by police anyway?
I have been taken some pictures from the latern and have planned to go to a garage to repair the damage.
Can I expect something what I do not know?

I mean, bergsum could just have reversed into his/her own gate for all a garage knows. If I backed into a street lamp and caused very minor damage to it in the UK (particularly if others had hit it before) I wouldn't think twice about it!
Please tell me this is a joke.

Go again to the same place and call the police. They will come and make the report.

Report it and get ready to pay Q.R 3000 for causing damage to pulic property.

Any damage of the car can not be repaired without police report. If there are some shop you find to make the damage without police report, they will charge you double or three times the normal charge. Go to Traffic department in Madinath Khalifa and tell them you accidentally damage of your own or somebody did without your knowledge at the parking, and the officer will see the damage of the car and make a report for it.
"There's nothing we can do to change the past, if it teaches you a lesson profit from it then, forget it."
