accommodation in Durkan

I have just accepted a teaching post. My contract says I have to live in Dukhan. I have an acc allowance of 4000QR per month. I am a single guy looking for a simple apartment. Is this allowance likely to be enough for renting somewhere? THANKS!

I;ve just pm you with some additional information. The info in contract about living in Dukhan is a mistake. You will be working in Mesaieed, hence living in Doha first and then in Mesaieed when housing is finished.

You most likely will be put up at the bachelor lodge in Dukhan.
months in company accommodation is probably standard on the contract.
That was introduced to give the employee time to look around and see where he and the family wanted to live.
I don't think they have family sized tents in Dukhan
Thanks for that dweller. You see I would have thought that as well. They did say that at the interview. Then my contract said that this would only be for three months, before I would find my own, assisted by a 4000QR per month payment. Maybe this is just to cover themselves if the accommodation isn't available.
Anyway I have sent them off an email to see.

It is a new school for QP employees' children. It is called the MIC School. It is supposed to be the first of a few projects. I don't know very much about it. The contract says I have to live in Durkan.
is more than one school now in Dukhan?

my contract says I will be in QP accommodation until Xmas, then I have 4000QR a month to find my own place. I will be at the MIC school, but the contract says I must live in Durkan. I think I will have time to find somewhere once I get over there. Thanks for the help!
Are you going to be a teacher in the English School in Dukhan? As far as I know, Dukhan City = QP compound. If you are QP staff then accomadation in Dukhan will be provided and there is no way you can rent an apartment from QP. Other places like Zikreet or Um Bab will be some distance away from Dukhan.. I think you should check with the school or ask for their recommendation as to where can find a place to stay.
